Location Cork City Cork City is a university city in the south-west of Ireland. The city is built on two islands upon the river Lee, which flows through the city under beautiful bridges, interweaving and connecting the islands. The city has a rich heritage with many museums, art galleries and theatres along with all the amenities of a modern city. With a relatively small population of approximately 400,000 in Cork and its suburbs, it provides all the conveniences of the city in a safe and friendly environment where students can learn and interact with the local population. Cork International Airport is approximately 4km from the city centre and provides access to a host of international destinations.
Residential Centre CIT Bishopstown Our junior residential centre is located in the beautiful suburb of Bishopstown. This is a well established south-western residential suburb of Cork situated approximately 3km from the City centre. The suburb is student-orientated with many primary and second level schools in the area as well as the third-level Cork Institute of Technology, where the summer school is based.

Our classes
We are proud innovators in the field of language-teaching; incorporating Features of our classes include:
technology and extensive project-work in the Junior syllabuses. There is a strong
cultural aspect to our syllabuses, which are linked to our activity programme. A Project work
focus on spoken production in class means that students have abundant Cultural component
opportunities to use new grammar and vocabulary that they acquire. Integrated skills
Option to take Trinity GESE exam
All courses offer 20 lessons (15 hours) of formal tuition per week. Each student’s Nationality mix
level is assessed on arrival, and students are placed in a class at the appropriate Maximum of 15 students per class
level. Levels range from beginners to advanced. Maximum class size is 15 students. Weekly assessment

Our activities
Students on our Multi-activity programme enjoy a full
activity programme which includes sports, excursions,
cultural activities, drama, dance, arts & crafts, and team-
building games. Those on our specialist programmes
(Golf, Rugby or Horse-Riding) spend their afternoons
building up their proficiency in these sports.
Evening activities include discos, quizzes, Irish dancing
and karaoke; and there is a full day excursion at the
weekend. These activities are available to all of our
students, and provide additional opportunities to build
relationships and have fun while using English.
We are firm believers in learning by doing.
Our activities are designed to provide students with the
opportunity to use the language they have acquired in their
classes, as well as presenting new learning opportunities.
Students on our specialist programmes leave Cork with an
impressive store of language related to Golf, Rugby or Horse-

Our School
This programme is based in a newly constructed building in the
prestigious Cork Institute of Technology, in a tranquil suburb of Cork city.
The campus is ideally laid out for the specific needs of the programme
with classrooms, food hall and residence within easy walking distance of
each other.
The newly designed building and spacious classrooms combined with
our highly qualified and experienced teachers matched with a
magnificent social programme all contribute to form a world class
programme for children aged between 11 and 17.

The campus boasts a state-of-the-art leisure complex with two pools; 18
and 25 metre, an indoor multi-sports hall and 4 all-weather pitches for
use by the students. So in rain and shine there is plenty to keep the
students occupied. At all times the students are supervised by their own
leaders and also are accompanied by an Irish teacher.
The games and activities that are organised by the college are run
through English and provide endless opportunities for the students to
put what they have learned in class into practice.Accommodation All students who attend our Cork Institute of Technology Junior summer school will stay in residences carefully selected and visited by a representative of the college. These are state-of-the-art, newly built complexes of apartments on campus. The apartments are three and four bedroomed and have all modern amenities. The students stay in single ensuite rooms, with ample wardrobe space, a desk and shelving. All rooms have private bathroom facilities. Our residences consist of state-of-the-art, purpose-built complexes with 24 hour security. English plus Watersports Host Family / Residence
Course Aim: This programme gives the students the possibility of practising waterskiing / wakeboarding in addition to improv-
ing their English skills. The training sessions will be developed in English and hosted by professional trainers.
Course Description: As well as participating in language classes every morning from Monday to Friday, students can then
enjoy two afternoons of waterski and wakeboarding and two afternoons of general sports. In the evenings students can partici-
pate in karaoke, bingo and a disco. A full day excursion to a venue of historical or cultural interests outside Cork is also includ-
ed as part of the programme and takes place on Saturdays.

Our canteen is located on the campus, less than 5 minutes walk from the classrooms. Students will have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in
the canteen and they will receive packed lunches on the days that they are off campus. Students can also prepare food in their
apartments as each apartment is equipped with a full functioning kitchen.

Cork City Gaol
The restored city jail, complete with furnished cells once housed 19th century prisoners. The
exhibition and audiovisual display trace the lives of typical inmates during 19th and 20th
centuries, and show some of the harsh punishments they received.
Blarney Castle
A must-see on a visit to Cork, the castle is home to the world-famous Blarney Stone. Students
have the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone to receive the gifts this bestows. There is also
time to take a walk through the Enchanted Garden before doing some shopping in the Woollen
Mills.
Fota Wildlife Park & Cobh
This two-part trip encompasses a visit to the wonderful port town of Cobh plus the nearby
wildlife park at Fota. As Cobh was the last port of call of the Titanic, one of the main
attractions in the town is the museum that honours this world-famous ship. Students
encounter a vast range of exotic animals as well as some local ones on their visit to Fota.
Kinsale
This town is famous for its cobbled streets and wonderful scenic walks. The students will also
have the opportunity to take the coastal walk to see the famous Charlesfort – a key location in
Irish history in the most stunning of settings.Sample Excursions

Killarney
Students visit the magnificent Killarney National Park, and can step back in time to the early
part of the 20th Century as they visit the charming Muckross Farm. A visit to the majestic Torc
Waterfall is a must, and there is time to visit Killarney town.
Cashel & Mitchelstown Caves
The students will visit the Rock of Cashel and also Mitchelstown Caves for a mixture of
historical and natural wonder. The Rock of Cashel is one of the most spectacular archaeological
sites in Ireland, while the Caves are a unique and breath-taking natural formation.
Bunratty Castle
This 15th Century castle is one of the highlights of any visit to the Limerick region. The castle
itself is a well-preserved part of Irish history, while the folk park next to the castle offers a
wonderful insight into life in Ireland in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The Ring Of Kerry
The Ring of Kerry is part of the mystical & unspoilt Ireland that has attracted visitors for
hundreds of years. Majestic mountains swoop down to pristine lakes, while the magnificent
Atlantic ocean awaits around the next bend.
