All participants in VeloCity are expected to ride safely and follow the rules of the ride including:
    RIDER SAFETY

                             • Obey all traffic laws and signals unless directed to do otherwise by a police officer or other VeloCity official.

                             • Wear a helmet approved by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission or similar agency.

                             • Stay on the marked route. Our routes are designed and marked for your safety. Support services are
available only if you are on the designated route.

                             • Do not wear headphones or earbuds or listen to any personal device while riding.

                             • Pull over and stop to make or receive any phone calls.

                             • Share the road — ride single file, staying as far to the right as possible. Pass only on the left. Double-file
riding should only be done based on safe road conditions.

                             • Do not cross the yellow center line or ride in the face of oncoming traffic at any time.

                             • Stay alert at all times and be observant of road hazards such as parked cars, potholes, grates, gravel, etc.
Point out hazards to fellow riders by calling them out. Report hazards to the VeloCity team when possible.

                             • Stay in control of your bike at all times, and always be aware that you are riding in a group. Do not brake
suddenly. Ride in as straight a line as possible. Avoid swerving.
