Palm Beach Atlantic University seeks its inaugural Physician Assistant Program Director, who will
provide visionary leadership to further enhance its legacy of growth as it moves toward an increasingly
bold institutional future. Leveraging its world-class location with its recognized academic and
spiritual assets, the founding Physician Assistant Program Director will support the development and

the challenges of the 21st century and beyond. The University welcomes this opportunity to attract

About Palm Beach Atlantic
Palm Beach Atlantic University is a comprehensive, interdenominational Christian university founded in 1968
and named for its location in the Palm Beaches and its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The first classes were
held in the fall of 1968 with 110 students enrolled, and the first graduation occurred in the spring of 1972.
Later that year PBA received initial accreditation from the regional accrediting association.

PBA’s main campus is located in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida with stunning views of the Intracoastal
Waterway and is steps away from Palm Beach. Palm Beach Atlantic University’s 29-acre campus is
consistently ranked among the most beautiful in the United States by national web and print publications.
More important is the campus’s proximity to numerous Fortune 500 companies with offices in Palm Beach
and West Palm Beach. Many such businesses offer internships, part-time positions, and full-time employment
for top graduates.

PBA confidently affirms the values and institutions that historically have informed American society— religious
liberty; traditional Judeo-Christian morality; limited, constitutional government; the Rule of Law; personal and
political accountability — the American system of free enterprise. The University believes that the United
States is truly an exceptional nation, which was founded and has flourished under the guiding providential
hand of God. PBA aims to develop in each student an appreciation for the unique American achievement in
its many dimensions—social, political, economic, moral, legal, and religious.

PBA is a Christian university which
equips students to lead fulfilling lives
   through learning, leadership, and service.

Vision
The vision for Palm Beach Atlantic University is to be a premier global Christian university, whose graduates
are intellectually prepared, possess high moral character, demonstrate outstanding citizenship and are
servant leaders in their communities, the nation, and the world.

Mission
The mission of Palm Beach Atlantic University is to prepare students for lifelong learning and leadership
by offering excellent undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs of study in the Arts, Humanities,
Sciences, and selected professions. Palm Beach Atlantic University is a private, independent university
dedicated to the intentional integration of Christian principles. As a community of learners, the University
provides students with a rigorous educational environment that leads to intellectual, spiritual, and personal
character development.

Guiding Principles
Palm Beach Atlantic University is a comprehensive
Christian university with a significant core emphasis
in the liberal arts. Its purpose is to offer a curriculum of
studies and a program of student activities dedicated to the
development of moral character, the enrichment of spiritual
lives and the perpetuation of growth in Christian ideals.

Founded under the providence of God with the conviction
that there is a need for a university in this community that will
expand the minds, develop the moral character and enrich
the spiritual lives of all the people who may come within the
orbit of its influence, Palm Beach Atlantic University shall
stand as a witness for Jesus Christ, expressed directly
through its administration, faculty, staff, and students.

To assure the perpetuation of these basic concepts of
its founders, it is resolved that all those who become
associated with Palm Beach Atlantic University as trustees,
officers, members of the faculty, or of the staff, must
believe in, and affirm in principle and practice, the divine
inspiration of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments;
that man and woman were directly created by God; that
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin; that He is the Son of
God, our Lord and Savior; that He died for the sins of all
and thereafter arose from the grave; that by repentance
and the acceptance of and belief in Him, by the grace of
God, the individual is saved from eternal damnation and
receives eternal life in the presence of God; and it is further
resolved that the ultimate teachings in this University shall
always be consistent with, and not contrary to, these
principles.

Academics
The Christian character of the University
is evidenced in a faculty consisting of
committed Christians, a curriculum that
integrates Christian teachings throughout
all disciplines, a core of general education
requirements called Faith, Roots, and
Reason, which prepares students to
be virtuous citizens of the professional
community, the civic community, and the
faith community.”

The University is committed to its traditional brand of academic excellence in which the life of the mind shapes
both the character and the intellect, and these core values are integrated into its professional programs. PBA
has had seven Fulbright Scholars in the past three years. Alumni are regularly accepted to the most selective
graduate programs, fellowships, and service organizations. The University has a mature honors program
track record of recruiting brilliant student scholars. PBA has attracted faculty with terminal degrees from
distinguished programs and who embrace a primary call to mentor their students, and they also represent the
University by making scholarly contributions to their disciplines through presentations, articles, and books.
Together, faculty and students lead the examined life in the context of Christian truth and virtue so that
each student is prepared for a life well lived – a life of citizenship in their academic, professional, and faith

Workship
Workship, a blending of the words “work” and “worship,” is a distinctive community service program that
responds to human needs with Christ-like action in the community and the world. The University’s founders
were committed to a unique requirement that every student should be involved in community service. The
original concept was based on the Judeo-Christian teaching, stressed so much by Christ himself through
teachings and example, that a person should treat others as he or she would want to be treated. Christ lived
the life of a servant and showed us the way to give of ourselves in service to others. . Through community
service, students can discern their vocation and develop a life-long habit of servant leadership. To date, Palm
Beach Atlantic students have volunteered more than 3.5 million hours.

Connected to this Workship program, Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Quality Enhancement Plan is Reach
Out, Reach In, Reach Up: Intellectual, Spiritual, and Character Development of Students through Service-
Learning. The purpose of the project is to foster Christ-focused development of students through service-
learning coursework that integrates academic learning and community application.

Student Life
Palm Beach Atlantic University believes in the
balance of academics, faith integration, and a very
active and energized co-curricular life for students.
PBA has created a variety of ways for students to
get involved, including plenty of student clubs and
