Fasting is prescribed
to you as it was prescribed

you may learn piety and

Another Chance...
The amazing month of Ramadan is upon us
once more. It comes with the prospect of all
our sins being forgiven, a night better than a
thousand months and with the opportunity
to become better and stronger, thus
receiving Allah’s promises in this life and in
the Hereafter.

All this is possible if we approach Ramadan
with the right intention and live it in the
right manner. Of course, the most rewarding
act of Ramadan is fasting. But fasting is not
just giving up food and drink as our beloved
Prophet alerted us by saying, “There are
people who fast and get nothing from their
fast except hunger, and there are those who
pray and get nothing from their prayer but a
sleepless night. (Ibn Majah)

The Islamic Foundation has launched
this Ramadan Planner to help you to live
Ramadan with the required focus. Begin by
setting some Ramadan goals; reflect over
My Planner 2020 - The Islamic Foundation
how you can become a better Muslim; what
knowledge, practices and habits do you want
to acquire over the month. We recommend
you decide on just five goals. It could be simple
things such as praying on time, being gentle
with people, giving up swearing and reading
Qur’an daily. Then the daily sheets provide
Hadith and Dua for the day, check lists and
attributes of Allah to draw strength from.

Ramadan with the current lockdown will be
strange. But, the opportunities and blessings
will be no less, InshaAllah. A personal and
reflective Ramadan could be the perfect
antidote. As we turn to Allah and seek
forgiveness we become more worthy of His
Rahma.

We pray you have a blessed and wonderful
Ramadan - and please stay safe!

Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down,
as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment
(so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong).
