Port offers tenants emergency financial
relief
As the Port of Seattle continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working to
maintain community health, safety, and wellbeing while maintaining essential operations at
critical Port facilities. We are also taking steps to help our small business partners and Port
tenants recover from the COVID-19 economic collapse. The Port Commission approved an
emergency short-term financial relief package that includes barring evictions at Port
facilities due to an inability to pay rent through June 30, 2020 and the Port is collaborating
with regional partners on webinars to help small businesses understand and access the
resources being distributed as part of the Federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic
Security (CARES) Act. In the next month, the Port will examine how federal, state, and local
safety net programs and the CARES Act benefits Port businesses and workers as it
considers additional financial relief. Keep Reading →
