PREMIERE STUDIO OF DANCE 2021-2022
REGISTRATION PACKAGE
Welcome to the 22nd season of dance at Premiere! We are all SO excited to get back in the studio and
focus on what we love doing most – teaching you dance! Our award winning staff is ready and our facility
is equipped with all the safety measures that continue to go above and beyond the guidance of our local
health unit. We are also pleased to be a part of the ‘Dance Safe Ontario’ community.
As we emerge from a long lockdown for indoor dance lessons, we are ready to provide our students with
the absolute best dance training in a safe and fun environment! In order to continue to keep our dancers
and families safe we will be following all mandated health and safety guidelines and encourage our
families to do the same. All of our staff is fully vaccinated. Please visit our website
www.premieredance.ca for a full list of our COVID-19 protocols and policies and check back often for
updates, as we know the conditions can be fluid.
Online registration opens Monday, July 12th, 2021 at 10:00am, and can be accessed at your convenience
through your Parent Portal on our website www.premieredance.ca. Should you have questions regarding
registration, please refer to our summer office hours – we are happy to help! Class sizes are limited so
please register early to avoid disappointment! We accept various methods of payment (cash, post-dated
cheques, debit, and credit cards are all accepted) and offer a variety of flexible payment plans to suit your
needs.
I am excited to announce the return of Musical Theatre classes for this season, as well as the addition of a
few NEW classes! We are excited to be offering our popular ‘pre-competitive’ classes again this year, for
those recreational students ages 9-12 looking for more of a challenge, but who are not quite ready to
commit to competitive dance. We are also thrilled to be welcoming a NEW Micro Mini (ages 3-5) group
this fall for those young dancers who are ready to dive into competitive dance! Our Mini (age 5-7) dancers
will have the opportunity to compete in Hip Hop this year. Our Jr (age 7-9) dancers have added Acro &
Tap tech/comp class opportunities, and our Jr (age 9-11) dancers now have a Contemporary comp class
option. Finally, I am thrilled to announce the addition of Miss Alexa to our amazing teaching staff. Alexa
is a life-long PSD dancer who is now attending Trent University. We are so excited for our recreational
dancers to have the opportunity to learn from Miss Alexa’s knowledge and experience in several styles of
dance, specializing in tap dance! Check out her recreational class options on Friday evenings.
Are you new to dance lessons? Please consult our attached ‘guide to recreational classes’ and find your
child’s age group to see all options available to them. We are happy to help you select the best class for
your child – please don’t hesitate to ask us any questions regarding class options/choices and registration.
We are here to help make dance lessons hassle free! We also offer private and semi-private pod/bubble
group lessons for those who are not quite ready to jump back into a regular group dance class this fall!
Are you interested in auditioning for our 2021-22 Competitive Team? We are proudly Peterborough’s most
award winning and advanced competitive dance team! Not sure what is involved with competitive dance?
Dancers train in a minimum of three classes per week (B.A.T.D. Graded Recreational Ballet, Stretch &
Conditioning and Competitive Jazz) with additional class options in various styles for those who would
like to participate in more than just the required classes. The competitive groups will compete at four
competitions, both locally and around Ontario in the spring of 2022. This is a spectacular way for your
child to take their dancing to the next level, meet new friends, develop teamwork & leadership skills, and
to make lasting memories! This program is open to dancers ages 3 to adult! Please contact our office in
order to set up a meeting with one of our amazing teachers to discuss your child’s options.
Finally, the staff and I want to thank our amazing PSD families and community for their support throughout
the past couple challenging years (and beyond). We look forward to dancing together in the studio more than
ever before!

Office Hours
Summer Office Hours (July 5th-Sept 3rd, 2021): Available for prearranged in person/phone/Zoom meetings Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm, Friday
9:00am-1:00pm. Must be booked in advance.
Regular Season Office Hours (Sept 8th, 2021-June 11th, 2022): Monday - Available for prearranged phone/Zoom meetings 9:00-5:00pm, Tuesday-Friday
Drop-In Office Hours 3:00-8:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-1:30pm

Fee Structure
At time of registration the entire year’s tuition and registration fee must be paid in full OR you may leave post-dated cheques/a credit
card on file for automatic payments. For those taking two or more classes per week (or with two or more dancers taking one class per
week) you may pay in nine monthly installments, otherwise you have the option of paying in full or in two installments. (Please date
cheques on the first of each month Sept 2021-May 2022 for monthly payments, and September 1 st & December 1 st, 2021 for those paying in
two installments).
Non-refundable Membership Fee: Recreational Students - $28.00 per family (includes free digital copy of recital)
Competitive Students - $45.00 per student (includes free digital copy of recital)
Fees below reflect the annual total per dancer for 37 weeks of classes (Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday classes), however fees for classes on Mondays
(34 weeks) and Fridays (36 weeks) will be charged accordingly (see online registration for specific pricing details for Monday & Friday classes).
Recreational Dance Class Fees:
Costume Deposits ($50/class) are due at registration. See below for multi-class discounts.
BASE PRICES:
1 x 30 min class / week = $399.60
1 x 45 min class / week = $599.40
Competitive Dance Class Fees:
Costume Deposits ($50/class) are non-refundable and are due on September 30 th, 2021.
BASE PRICES:
1 x 30 min class / week = $418.10
1 x 45 min class / week = $627.15
MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNTS ON ALL (REC & COMP) CLASSES:
2 classes / week = 20% discount on lesson fees
3 classes / week = 25% discount on lesson fees
4-9 classes / week = 30% discount on lesson fees
10+ classes / week = 35% discount on lesson fees
MULTI-REC CLASS FEES EXAMPLE: 2 x 45 min class per week = 2 x $599.40 = $1,198.90 - 20% = $959.04 ($106.56/installment, Sept-May)
MULTI-COMP CLASS FEES EXAMPLE: 4 x 45 min per week = 4 x $627.15 = $2,508.60 - 30% = $1,756.02 ($195.11/installment, Sept-May)

RECREATIONAL STUDENTS:
• If your child is not happy with their chosen class don’t worry– we will switch their class or offer a full refund
on classes (based on date of withdrawal), minus a 10% administrative fee until December 1st, 2021. After
December 1st, 2021 there are NO REFUNDS on classes or costume deposits, as all costumes have been
ordered and it is too late for someone new to take a student’s space. All withdrawals must be done in
person, via phone or email.
• The Annual Membership Fee is non-refundable.
• There is a $35.00 fee for ALL NSF payments.
• We are pleased to offer a 10% discount for families with more than one child registered for classes. This will
be taken off the cost of the second child’s lessons (equal or lesser value). This does not apply to costume
deposits.
• If you are paying in two installments the second cheque must be dated, or payment received no later than
December 1, 2021.
• We offer a 5% discount off the price of LESSONS (not costume deposits/membership fees) when the
entire year’s fees are paid in cash at time of registration only. This does not apply to cheques, debit, credit
card or money orders.
• Recreational costumes range in price between $80.00-$130.00 and are yours to keep! The $50.00/costume
deposit is paid at registration, and the balance owing ranging between $30.00-$80.00 per costume is due in
May. Please rest assured that we take care of all alterations and sewing for you!
• Recital Tickets go on sale in early May 2022 and are approximately $25.00. Please make sure you are on our
email list to stay up to date with all the latest information from the Studio! Also check our website
(www.premieredance.ca), ‘like’ us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram to stay up to date!
• Premiere Studio of Dance does not offer make-up classes, refunds, or credits for students who miss class. The
Studio will only ever cancel classes due to extreme weather conditions (situations where the police are asking
people to stay off the roads). In that situation, that evening’s class will take place via ‘Zoom’ (link will be
emailed prior to class time).
• Should an extreme circumstance (government/public health mandated shut down) present itself all classes will
be moved to the ‘Zoom’ format with immediate 25% discount on lesson fees. Should the mandated closure
last more than 8 consecutive weeks, dancers will have the option to opt out of ‘Zoom’ classes until we return
in person. We thank you for your understanding.
• The Studio reserves the right to charge interest to any late accounts (5% per month on unpaid balance).
COMPETITIVE STUDENTS:
(All the above applies plus the following):
• Competitive costumes can cost up to $350.00 per costume. Costumes are custom made and are the dancers’ to
keep. As they are worn numerous times and contribute to the competitive group mark, they must be ornate
and durable.
• Costume deposits for all competitive routines ($50.00 per routine) must be paid in full by September
30 th, 2021 and are non-refundable. Dances that may not end up using a costume deposit will be credited
in January or February, and may use the deposit towards another costume.
• Competitive Team students must pay a non-refundable competition entry fee deposit of $100.00 for
those in up to three groups, and $200.00 deposit for those in four or more groups (due October 14 th,
2021).
• Any Competitive Team members with credit towards competition entry fees will have their credit used prior to
any additional entry fee billing.
• Students who withdraw from the competitive program before October 15th, 2021 are eligible for a refund
on future classes only, but costume deposits, competition entry fee deposits, and lessons fees up to
withdrawal date are non-refundable.
• The balance of the competition entry fees (if applicable) must be paid in full no later than November 1st,
2021. Late fees outlined above will apply.
STUDIO CODE OF CONDUCT:
Premiere Studio of Dance is committed to providing a safe and uplifting dance experience for all. We ask
that everyone follow our code of conduct in order to help create a positive, memorable and fun dance
experience!
Dancers AND parents are simply asked to conduct themselves in a way that promotes respect and
encourages others to always be their best self. Any actions, whether they are verbal, written, or physical that
are perceived as intimidating, threatening or otherwise hostile, are strictly forbidden. Parents and students
that choose not to follow the Studio code of conduct will be removed from the Studio immediately without
refund.COVID 19 RESPONSE AND PROTOCOLS
A full listing of all COVID-19 protocols and safety measures can be found on our website at
www.premieredance.ca as this is an ever evolving situation, but here is specifically what we are doing to keep
our dancers safe while at the Studio:
- Staff and students must ‘check in’ before each class through their online Parent Portal. Dancers and
Instructors displaying ANY symptoms of COVID-19 are required to stay home and contact public
health prior to their return. Should these requirements change so will our policies.
- We will continue to work with Peterborough Public Health, avoid crowding in the building by using
multiple exits, and always encouraging physical distancing and mask wearing when indoors.
- Dancers are physically distanced and assigned their own dance square within each Studio room.
- All high touch surfaces and washrooms will be sterilized frequently throughout each dance day.
Separate washrooms are designated for each Studio room to minimize cohort crossover (signage
posted on washroom doors).
- Hand sanitizer is readily available and required for use when entering and exiting the facility.
Should the government legislate any type of ‘lockdown’ or any other scenario where our ‘in person’
classes are not permitted, PSD will switch IMMEDIATELY to online classes through ‘Zoom’,
which will be discounted 25%. Should the closure extend beyond 8 weeks any dancers will have the
option to opt out of ‘Zoom’ classes until we are able to meet in person again. It is our hope that we
will be able to have a somewhat ‘normal’ dance season, but having a plan in place is always a good
thing!
