Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test
(OSSLT)

• Written in Grade 10
        ▶ March 31, 2020
Based on expectations up to and including Grade 9
• If a student is unable to meet standards in first attempt they will:
      ▶ take the test again in Grade 11, or
      ▶ may be directed to complete the Ontario Literacy Course in
Grade 12 (OLC4O)

Are you ready for Grade 10?

• All grade 10 students must have 8 credits by the end of Grade 9.

• Students who do not meet these requirements should attend
  Summer School.

• Summer School Offering come out at the end of May (4 weeks in
  July). If you take a course with a school board other than HCDSB
  you will need to provide us with a report card.

Reach Ahead Credits

• Students who wish to reach ahead can also take summer school (course offerings
  and registration forms will be available end of May) You should apply as soon as
  they become available in order to reserve yourself a spot. Listen to
  announcements and check the website for more information.
• Help improve understanding and build foundation in that subject area.
• Travel abroad with different organizations such as EduTravel.

✓ EduTravel, in partnership with Ontario public and private school boards, offers
  an innovative Travel for Credit Program. Students will have the opportunity to
  travel across Canada and beyond, earning a wide variety of Ontario high school
  credits in a safe and fun environment. Course offerings during March Break and
  Summer (July).

• SHSM – Fitness Promotion and Arts and Culture – apply on myBlueprint
Each SHSM program offers students a bundle of 8 - 10 credits. These courses
are regular Ontario secondary school courses that allow students to work
towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, they have been bundled as
the most relevant courses to prepare students for a future in the Sports sector
and in the Arts. (please see Mrs. Martin or Mr. Spadafora for more information)
• Co-op – 2 credit co-op in various community placements (see Ms. Moore or Mr.
  Spadafora) application required
• Students also participate in special certifications when part of either
  program.

                     inclement weather sign-off sheet etc.)
                 2. Activity fee $65
                 • Printed receipt of on-line payment or cheque payable to Corpus Christi Catholic
                     Secondary School
                 3. Co-op application, Leadership application, e-Learning application, SHSM application
April, 2020      COURSE VERIFICATION
                 Students will receive a verification of their course selections in April. At that time students
                 will have the opportunity to verify and modify their course selections.
