Formula One season begins in Melbourne
The 2012 Formula One season begins in March, with every race of
the campaign shown live on Sky Sports’ new dedicated F1 chan-
nel. The opening two races will be broadcast exclusively live, with
the first meeting in Melbourne followed by the second in Malaysia
a week later. Ten races will be exclusive to the channel, while Sky
Sports F1 will also show every practice and qualifying session live.
Simon Lazenby will front each race, while there is a star-studded
commentary team of Martin Brundle and David Croft. Ted Kravitz
and Natalie Pinkham will be in the pit lane to bring viewers closer to
the action than ever before, and former World Champion Damon Hill
will give his expert analysis at several meetings. Georgie Thompson
and Kravitz will bring weekly insight with a magazine show, while
Steve Rider presents a series of interviews with legends of the sport.
Adiditional services will be available via the red button, and Sky
Sports F1 will also be available on Sky Go. Plus, Sky Sports News will
keep viewers up to date with all the latest F1 news across the year.
With no less than six World Champions on the grid, reigning cham-
pion Sebastian Vettel is the man to beat. British McLaren duo Lewis
Hamilton and Jenson Button are expected to mount a challenge for
