SOUND RESTRICTIONS

MAXIMUM PERMITTED NOISE LEVELS

The limits are 95dB (A) and 108 dB (C) when integrated over a one minute period, and
measured 10 metres from a primary PA Loudspeaker, 1.5mtrs above floor level, 45 degrees
off-axis of the loudspeakers, and in the direction of the offices in South Central square to the
east.

When events finish before 23:00 hours, these limits are 100dB (A) and 115dB (C)
While the offices in Central square and south central square are operating, those limits are 86
dB (A) and 86 dB (C).

Sound-checks before performances on Mondays to Fridays will not begin before 16:30 hours.
STAGE DIMENSIONS & LIGHTING PLOT
STAGE TRUSSES
There are 3 fixed, permanently installed, trusses. These are Litec QX30SA which is a
nominal 29cm truss. Due to the Powder-coat finish, and the thickness of the truss wall tube,
compression attachments should be used, and hook-clamps with wing-bolts are not
permitted.

Length (approx.) Trim (approx.) MAX UDL AVAILABLE

    Stage Truss 10 m 5.1 m 500 kg 220 kg

    Front Truss 8m 6.7 m 200 kg 110 kg

    Audience Truss 8m 6.7 m 200 kg 165 kg

The quoted Maximum UDL is for the bare truss. The Available Load is what is left after the
house standard technical package has been subtracted.

Please also consider the following:
[1] On a truss with a uniformly distributed load, a centre point will take at least 62% of the
load.
[2] When loads are approaching maximum capacities of the lifting equipment (including the
roof brackets/beams) and if the lift involves more than 2 hoists, load monitoring via load
cells should be seriously considered to avoid overloading of equipment.

Backdrops
Artist backdrops can be hung on the Venue upstage truss

these must be put up and taken down by yourselves.

FLYPOSTING

We must remind all promoters that flyposting is illegal under the Town and Country
Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992. Any promoter engaging in this act
who gets reported to us by either the local council or otherwise will be asked to remove it
immediately, and may be barred from any further promotion at the BOILER SHOP.
FILMING & INTERNET USE
FILMING, STREAMING AND RECORDING

Depending on how many cameras you plan to use, and where you intend to put them,
there can be an impact on the number of tickets you can sell.

The preferred setup which can be achieved without having an impact on the capacity is:
   • Pit - 1x camera on fixed tripod or handheld (not on track)
   • Stage - 1x or 2x cameras handheld or on fixed tripod
   • F.O.H. position - 1x camera on fixed tripod

Further cameras will require floor space, and hence will have an impact on the capacity of
the show.

Our facility fee for filming a show is £500 + VAT.
Please contact Daveid Phillips – Daveid@stephensonworks.com
