Social Media Engagement & Sharing
Social media is an important marketing tool that allows businesses and brands to engage with current and future
customers, and share industry expertise to extend our reach and credibility. It’s extremely valuable to regularly
share content and maintain an active social presence to establish trust and build a share of voice in a medium that is
incredibly powerful.
An influential and meaningful way to build our brands on social media is to engage with the content posted
by Holoform and your organization (like, react, and/or comment) and share these posts to your personal social
media accounts.
When a post earns significant engagement, it increases the probability that it will show up in the newsfeed (or home
feed) of connections or followers—which increases the number of relevant people (customers, prospects, industry
peers) who see the post.
Each social media channel has unique algorithms that determine which posts from the people and brands you follow
(or are connected with) appear in your news or home feed, and in what order. By liking, reacting, and/or commenting
on Holoform’s and your company’s posts, you have the power to increase the likelihood more people will see it
and engage with it, as well.
A guaranteed way to increase the number of people that see these posts in their news or home feed is to share the
posts to your personal social media page. Simply by sharing, you introduce the content of that post, and that
company, to a whole new network of people!
In turn, this new network now has the opportunity to see and read the post, start following that company and engage
with and share future content. This creates a ripple effect that expands each company’s reach and continuously
increases the number of people that see the content. And it only takes a few clicks on your part to make it happen.

LinkedIn
LinkedIn’s algorithm measures dozens of factors to predict how relevant content is to each audience, and then ranks
each post accordingly in the news feed. LinkedIn has said the mantra of the feed is, “People you know, talking about
things you care about.”
Interaction and engagement are the key to a post’s success.
This algorithm will strategically select posts you’ve engaged with 1
and place them in the feeds of people you’re connected with—
even if they don’t follow Holoform or your company.
In other words, if you engage with Holoform’s or your company’s
posts on LinkedIn, there is an increased chance that post will
pop up in the news feed of someone who may not be aware of
Holoform or your company. And this is a critical means to reach
new customers.
                                                                                                                          2a

1. Make sure you’re following Holoform on LinkedIn.
Enter Holoform in the search bar in the top left corner.
Once you’re on the page (see image 1 at right), click the
“+Follow” button underneath the header. If you’re already
following Holoform on LinkedIn, you’ll see “Following” in
the top right of the header box.
                                                                                                                          2b

2. To engage with or share a Holoform post, refer to these
   easy instructions:

   a. To engage, click the “Like” button (a thumbs up icon).
If you hover over this icon, you’ll also have the
opportunity to react with other options, like “celebrate,”
      “love,” “insightful,” or “curious.”
                                                                                                                          2c
   b. Click the “Comment” button and a pop-up will
allow you to write a meaningful comment or response.
Again, this will show up on Holoform’s page, but it
increases the likelihood the post will also appear
      in your connections’ news feeds.
   c. Click the “Share” button to ensure the post has the best
chance to reach your connections in their newsfeed.
This is the most powerful option. Once you click the
“Share” button, a pop-up will appear (see image 2c at
right). Here you can create the unique message you’d like
to share with your connections about the Holoform post.

Facebook
Facebook’s algorithm is very similar to LinkedIn’s and Instagram’s, except that Facebook has about 1-billion or more
users, and it ranks posts based on who a user typically interacts with, the type of media in the post (video, link, image,
etc.), and the popularity of the post.
Engagement and interaction lead the charge on helping a
post show up in your connections’ home feeds, so click that 1
“like” button and comment as much as you can! Since Facebook’s

Instagram
Instagram’s algorithm influences each account’s (company or personal) feed by 6 key factors: Interest,
Relationship, Timeliness, Frequency, Following, and Usage. Basically, what appears in a feed is a
combination of all of your Instagram behaviors.
Interaction and engagement are again the most important
                                                                                                                           1
factors to a post’s success, because the algorithm prioritizes
content that receives the most engagement. So, the more
you engage with your company’s or Holoform’s posts, the
more likely they will continue to show up in your feed, as well
as have continued and increasing success (in terms of more
likes, comments, and shares) so they’ll appear higher in your
company’s or Holoform’s followers’ feeds.

                                                                                                                           2a
