 Marking the 46thd week of “stay at home” meetings required by the coronavirus outbreak, Jennifer Van Voorhis
called the Zoom meeting to order at 8 am Twelve club members attended including Jen, Fred Cartier, Bud Weaver,
 Dave Wright, the Hon. Jonah Triebwasser, Chris Chale, Susan Simon, Erik Johansen, Linda Greenblatt, Michael,
Gwen and Tom Maiello. The meeting started with the pledge, the Four-Way test and a blessing by Rev Fred Cartier.

He also mentioned the announcement of President-elect Shekhar Mehta encourages members to be changemakers

International Taiwan Convention 2021 has been changed to a virtual event. Jonah and Jennifer highly recommend
our members to attend this event. We will be receiving registration information in the near future.
        Jennifer reminded us the Rotary Leadership “RLI” is available online on February 6, 2021, Must register by
Wed. The registration fee of $25 will be waived for new members. Jenn and Susan Simon plan to attend. And,
0updated the members on Clynk and the UMC Food Pantry. Clynk has been steadily growing. We are donating $80-
$100 worth of product in each delivery to a local food pantry. The Red Hook United Methodist Church Food Pantry
is growing in need. There have been approximately 60-65 families each week. They are in need of another volunteer
for Friday distribution. They are now open Friday by appointment and Sunday, every week. We also discussed the
possibility of participating in a District Wide Food Drive February 27th with a drop off at the Masons, 9 Graves St,
Red Hook 8am – 10am. Everyone was in agreement we should do it. Planning Committee is being enlisted.

Linda Greenblatt introduce our guest speaker Tom Maiello. Yes, he was one of her successful students.

        Tom shared his wonderful journey through life so far. I would expect the Best is Yet to Come! His
educational journey took him from Red Hook High to Bard College, to University at Albany and even University of
Cambridge. His career path has been full of adventures while having the willingness to work in positions that he did
not have extensive experience. While embracing the challenges he had a positive impact on everyone he
encountered. He started his career path with a desire to be in Theatre and Dance. Years of dedication and passion for
his work he became an experienced manager, counselor and communicator. Currently Tom is Director of Social
Services and Admissions, at StoneRidge Retirement Living Communities - Myerstown, PA Together with his
team, they provide social services, admissions and mental health in-service training in a long-term and rehabilitative
environment for a large skilled campus of StoneRidge Retirement Living Communities.
        Tom is also President/President Elect in the Myerstown, PA Rotary club. Their many projects reflect a
“Service Above Self” from local food instability projects, fundraiser auctions, Student of the Month for local school
and even a tremendous water project creating wells of clean drinking water in Columbia. There club moniker is
“Ambassadors of Hope” I have attached Tom’s resume for more detailed information. Tom was very graciously
reminding us of all the efforts we put into our very one local community.
