Magnetic Track Safety Solutions

“Our Magnetic Track Safety Solutions are simple, safe and fast
to assemble/disassemble, thanks to the innovative and simple
magnetic attachment that connects to the web of the rail, with
no requirement to remove or replace under track ballast.”
Jason Fidoe, Head of Track Warning Services

Our Magnetic Barrier Fencing provides a safe and more efficient option when
compared to traditional fencing methods.

The Magnetic Barrier Fencing creates Magnetic ‘Points Protocol Boards’ act
a fenced working area that is quick and as a temporary indicator to Drivers/
simple to install. The fencing provides Operators to ‘Stop and check the
a safe operating environment for Points before proceeding’. They reduce
workers. the likelihood of a ‘points run through’.

The key features of the products are as follows:

■ Can be used in areas with S&C
■ Does NOT affect track circuits or Axle counters
■ Easy dismantling with one arm movement
■ Fully functional under extreme hot and cold temperatures
■ No danger of damaging underground signalling cables
■ No loose components
■ No tools required
■ Simple, safe and fast assembly/disassembly resulting in significant savings
■ Extremely strong magnet (tensile force up to 600 Kg/N)
■ The equipment only consists of two components

                                                                                     7

Track Warning Services

“We have embedded safety practices and principles into
all aspects of the business. This philosophy has resulted
in significant investment in Track Warning Systems (TWS)
technology. We have the ability to offer the most appropriate
protection methods to meet any project requirements.”
Jason Fidoe, Head of Track Warning Services

We are the UK’s only supplier of Track Warning Systems and have invested in state
of the art technology that can increase both safety and productivity.

We estimate that working in the conventional way during night time line blockages
results in a 70% drop in production, whilst still paying the staff for 100%. Working
under a Track Warning System during daylight can increase productivity by over
100%, resulting in more paid hours worked, whilst drastically reducing driver fatigue
related to early hours driving.

Our portfolio of Track Warning Systems include:

■ Site Surveys and Safe Work Planning by a dedicated planning team
■ Automatic Track Warning System (ATWS)
■ Semi-Automatic Track Warning System (SATWS)
■ Lookout Operated Warning System (LOWS)

Health, Safety, Quality and Environment

“Everything we do relies upon the safety of our workforce
and the communities around us. Our approach to health and
safety is based on the idea of personal obligation and individual
empowerment. We believe everyone will return home safely
every day, and has a duty, to take care of themselves and those
around them.”
Russell Bradshaw, HSQE Manager

We all look after one another and put the safety of everyone as our number one
priority. We are all responsible and, if we see something that doesn’t look right,
we have a culture which means we are confident to raise concerns, safe in the
knowledge they will be listened to and acted upon. Safety is good business.

Our health and safety management system covers all aspects of our business
operations, which include ISO 14001, 9001 and 45001. At RSSI we pride ourselves
as being a verified supplier by RISQS, and a SSIP member of Constructionline.

We are registered members of The National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR) and hold
ICO and REC memberships. We have a strong commitment to drive up standards
and empower our people with appropriate training, assessment and guidance.

We are Constructionline Gold members, and their Acclaim team is accredited
to assess and award SSIP certificates on our behalf. We are also members of
Safecontractor, whose SSIP scheme is also recognised by clients and other SSIP
providers.

As an organisation that is leading the way in understanding, identifying and
supporting the need for good mental health in the workplace, we have invested
in developing our managers and the workforce. MHFA England training is just one
of the tools we use to educate our managers and teams, to spot the first signs of
mental ill-health and give them the knowledge and confidence to help.

Awareness of mental health & wellbeing issues at work is growing. For too long
stigma and taboos have fuelled fear and misunderstanding around mental ill-health
and prevented people from speaking out and seeking help. We are proud of the
measures we have implemented and continue to strive to put in to place many
positive interventions - from healthy food in the canteen, to gym membership, to
resilience training - to help promote wellbeing.
