This is a non-competitive art and writing display, using the Fair theme.
Mount the display as a mural (no bigger than 4' x 6')
It can showcase the work of one class, one grade, or be a composite
of many grades.
This display is open to all public, separate and private schools as well
as nursery and daycare centers.
Please reserve your spot by Sept. 15th, 2019. All entries must be
accompanied with a fair entry form!

The five dairy cow breeds are: Holstein, Jersey, Brown Swiss,
Ayrshire, Guernsey, and Milking Shorthorn. Holsteins came to
Canada from the Netherlands, Jerseys from the Isle of Jersey, Brown
Swiss from Switzerland, Ayrshires from Scotland, Guernseys from the
Isle of Guernsey, and Milking Shorthorns came from England. They
are called "the Foster Mothers" of the human race.

The average dairy cow eats about 29kg. of feed per day. Her diet is
scientifically formulated to keep her healthy while producing milk. The
feed may include clover and alfalfa hay, ground oats, barley, corn, and
soybeans, along with a balance of vitamin and mineral supplements.
She drinks between 80 and 180 litres of water in a day.

1. All photographs MUST be taken by the entrant.
2. Following the mounting instructions is an important part of the entry.
3. All photographs entered MUST be mounted on black construction
paper no more than one inch larger than the print. (ie a 5x7 inch
print may have a border of up to 6x8 inches). No mat board please.
4. Photos can be colour or black and white.
5. The judge will look for a photograph that has sharp focus,
pleasing composition and interesting content rather than a

       2019 Stratford School Fair Recipes
Class CO5

Sour Cream Chip Muffins

Ingredients:    1 ½ c. all-purpose flour
                2/3 c sugar
                3/4 tsp. baking powder
                3/4 tsp. baking soda
                1/4 tsp. salt
                1 large egg
                1 cup sour cream
                5 tbsp. butter, melted
                1 tsp. vanilla extract
                3/4 cup mint or semisweet chocolate chips

Directions: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder,
baking soda and salt. Combine the egg, sour cream, butter and
vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate
chips. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups three-fourths full. Bake
at 350° for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center
comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a
wire rack. (Taste of Home)

Fudge

Ingredients:     2/3 c. evaporated milk
                 1 2/3 c. white sugar
                 ½ tsp. salt
                 Mix above ingredients together. Boil for 5 minutes,
stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add: 1 ½ c. small (or 16 large) marshmallows
Stir until melted and add:       1 1/3 c. chocolate chips
                                 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Stir until chips are melted and pour into a buttered 8” x 8” pan.

your home. Show the location of fire extinguishers and smoke alarms.

safety items used by people when working around the farm or outside

Create a diorama (in a shoe box) of a farm safety example
FS7. Survival Kit
Grade 7 & 8
Make a survival kit in a shoe box with items you would need if you
were stranded.
FS8. Farm Safety Picture
Completed by students with special needs
Using coloured paper fill in the tractor outline.
A child can enter this category even if he or she is in a regular
classroom
