    SWIMMING WITH MEN
Eric (Rob Brydon) is a 40-something stuck in a rut. With his marriage
in tatters and his life generally going to pieces, he finds unexpected
refuge in the company of a motley crew of middle-aged men, who
meet up once a week at the local municipal pool to literally and
    figuratively tread water together.

Eric slowly realises that there’s strength in numbers, and that if this
unlikely band of misfits can become a real team they might just
have a shot at winning the Unofficial Male Synch-Swimming World
Championships – and maybe even at turning their lives around.

A fantastic cast including Charlotte Riley and Jim Carter star in this
feel-good comedy from BAFTA nominee Oliver Parker.

DIRECTOR: Luis Buñuel
CAST: Catherine Deneuve, Jean Sorel, Michel Piccoli
1967 | 100 min | France, Italy | Drama | French, Spanish, Mongolian

BELLE DE JOUR
Catherine Deneuve returns to the screen in all her splendour in this
beautifully restored presentation of Luis Buñuel’s 1967 classic.

Deneuve is Severine, the beautiful, bored young wife of a wealthy
Parisian surgeon. After her lovestruck friend Henri (Michel
Piccoli) mentions a secretive brothel, Severine is lured into an erotic
world of high-class prostitutes, answering only to the name Belle
de Jour. It is here Severine is given the freedom to enact her fantasies
as well as a secret erotic martyrdom bound with her dark past.

Interspersing reality with dreams and childhood flashbacks,
Buñuel’s captivating masterpiece is a commentary on the
hypocrisy of social relations and sexual politics that is as relevant
today as it was upon its release.

NONNAS ON THE RUN
Niente di serio
Angela and Franca decide to make their ultimate getaway. They

in this joyous, heart-warming adventure where anything can –
and does – happen.

Italian screen icon Claudia Cardinale plays Angela, an outspoken
fallen Duchess. Her glorious past is a dim memory since she lost
her fortune at the casino. Nunzia Schiano is Franca, a naïve nonna
from Naples. She has spent all of her life in her restaurant cooking.
The two ladies have been best friends for years – both are
romantic, naughty, and bursting with life. And when they embark
on their surprise escape, their family and friends suddenly realise
how incredible they truly are.

     SOMETIMES, ALWAYS, NEVER
Bill Nighy has long proven himself as one of Britain’s best character
actors, and now he stars in this stylish and heartfelt comedy-
drama about a tailor searching for a lost son.

Sharp of suit and vocabulary, Nighy is winningly deadpan as
Scrabble-obsessed Merseyside tailor Alan, whose eldest son
Michael stormed out of the house after a particularly heated
round of the popular board game, never to return. Years later,
Alan and his other son Peter (Riley) continue the search while
trying to repair their own strained relationship. Working from a
witty and astute script by veteran screenwriter Frank Cottrell-
Boyce (The Railway Man 2013), Liverpudlian director Carl Hunter
deploys a vivid visual style to capture the shifting moods of a
family who know plenty of words but struggle to communicate.

SUNSET OVER MULHOLLAND DRIVE
Hidden at the end of Mulholland Drive lies the Motion Picture &
Television Fund. The fund was created by Hollywood’s earliest
luminaries such as Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford, who realised
the need to help those in the industry who fell upon hard times.
Today, the MPTF houses a unique retirement community: men and
women who were once the backbone of showbiz, including actress
Connie Sawyer (When Harry Met Sally… 1989) and producer Daniel
Selznick (American Graffiti 1973).

Still burning for movies and entertainment, the film follows the
residents on a creative endeavour, from the first brainstorming
session all the way to the premiere, revealing enduring dreams
beyond the limelight – and lessons in life and love.

     THE EULOGY
This documentary is a stark exploration of the rise and fall of the
extraordinary Australian pianist Geoffrey Tozer. His story is framed
poignantly by Paul Keating’s re-enactment of the famous eulogy
the impassioned ex-Prime Minister delivered at Tozer’s funeral.

Often referred to as a prodigy, in his early life Tozer won accolades
and awards worldwide from Sydney to London to Tel Aviv.
However, his mid-life saw his career wane dramatically, leading
to his eventual untimely death at the age of 54.

Through interviews with Tozer’s friends and colleagues combined
with footage of the pianist’s life, Australian conductor Richard
Gill delves into the reasons why such a towering natural talent
could fall victim to such a tragic ending.

     VITA AND VIRGINIA
The affair and the friendship of authors Virginia Woolf and Vita
Sackville-West — both uncompromising in their insistence to live,
love, and create to the fullest — constitutes one of the most
     fascinating relationships in literary history.

The year is 1922. Vita (Gemma Arterton) is as notorious for her
dalliances with women and subversive attitudes toward gender as
she is famous for her aristocratic pedigree and writerly success.
Virginia (Elizabeth Debicki), meanwhile, is a celebrated writer,
already revolutionising literature. When Vita receives an invitation
to Bloomsbury, she becomes fixated on the idea of seducing the
enigmatic and stubborn Woolf. Vita's singular persona will eventually
be channelled into one of Virginia's greatest works, ‘Orlando.’

As this finely crafted tribute shows, Italian cinematographer Carlo
Di Palma’s life and career ran even deeper than the contributions
he made to cinema. A child of WWII, Di Palma emerged from
Rome's rubble as a 20-year-old in 1945, and found himself in the
magical moment of Italian neorealist cinema. His father was a
camera operator; his mother sold flowers on the Spanish Steps,
which, in his own estimation, gave him a natural sense of colour.
It was his innovations in colour with Michelangelo Antonioni's Red
Desert and Blow-Up in the mid-1960s that set him apart as a genius
of the medium. A glorious celebration of a humanist and an artist
of uncommon talent.
