Webster IN Lakes Trip – June 2022: This is an invitation for musky enthusiasts
heading to the finest lakes of Kosciusko County, Indiana June10-13, 2022.

Located in North Webster, IN., roughly 40 miles West of Fort Wayne, Lake
Webster, Lake Tippecanoe, James Lake, and the Barbee Chain are home to
arguably the best musky fishing in the state of Indiana.

Of course, some of you may want to stay through the 16th, just let me know what
dates you are wanting to go and we will get you hooked up with other members
with similar dates. As of right now we have contacted a local resort with no
returned call. We have already started to look for other lodging and found a 4-
bedroom house on the lake. Airbnb: Vacation Rentals, Cabins, Beach Houses, Unique Homes
& Experiences

Please let me know as soon as you know you will be joining in with a simple reply
to this email, include number of people in your group and who's boat you will be
in along with dates you will be fishing with us. We can then help find additional
lodging for everyone if needed.

Message from the President:
Welcome to 2022 and new challunges.

I want to congratulate Walt Krause for doing the almost impossible and catching
a muskie in every month of the year. Way to go Walt! Please read the long
version of the report in the IMA newsletter went out earlier this month.

We are fortunate to be able to help Shawn Hirst, ILDNR Biologist for Kinkaid
Lake and other Southern IL lakes, with the purchase of the 1,000 Floy Tags at a
purchase price of $920.00. Earlier in 2021 we purchased air stones for Jake
Wolf Hatchery that are used for the transportation of muskies to our lakes in IL.
We do that thru our Guide for Day and Tounament Fundraisers. Please plan on
helping us out again in 2022.

Did you see in the calendar that our first Muskie Tournament is in March? What
a chance to catch a nice fat muskie like the one in the picture I caught in
December on Kinkaid Lake. Come join us if you can.
We are working to help get the Eagle Lake in New Athens spillway repair on the
ILDNR list for 2022. In early December I submitted a letter to Colleen Callahan,
Director of ILDNR with copies to Representative David Friess and Senator Terri
Bryant.

An additional letter was submitted to ILDNR with the help of Randy Hilger to
ILDNR Parks Administration to waive the permit fees for tournaments on Kinkaid
Lake. ILDNR started a new 10% fee on all tournaments in 2022 on ramps they
manage to help improve the docks and facilities they manage.

We will keep you posted on both of these letters.
Hope to see you at the Let’s Go Fishing Show, at the Annual Awards Banquet or
on the water. My last trip in 2021 will be Thursday, December 30th on Kinkaid
Lake.

It’s hard to believe that we are now in the year 2022. The last two years we have
struggled through the covid 19 and it looks like we have to start the year again
with the threat of it continuing. I am glad to see that a lot of restrictions have been
lifted and our events will continue as planned. We should come to grips that this
covid 19 will be with us forever. It is not going away. We have to continue with
our lives and just let the chips fall and hope for the best.

Now that the year 2021 is past, I have not heard of any one completing the
challenge that I put out at the beginning of this past year. I will inform you that I
did complete the year with fulfilling at least 1 muskie in every month of 2021. I
caught my December muskie on December 20th and followed it with two more on
December 21. It is not an easy task. You have to be very lucky and everything
has to fall into place. I was without a boat for almost 4 months this past year.
Boat dealers are in no hurry to get you back on the water. There are a lot of part
shortages that have increased the delays any way that their excuse. My boat will
be ready for 2022 when I recover from my knee surgery. I finally got my new
hummingbird that was on order since March and my new motor was delivered
and finally installed. Look out 2022. I will put the challenge out to you again in
2022.

The Collinsville “Let’s Go Fishing Show” will be January 7 to the 9th. We will again
have a booth at the show. It’s booth 31. This is the first time since the show
started that I will not be in attendance. If everything goes well with my surgery I
should be getting home on the 6th. Jim Beaty is going to take my place giving the
2 seminars at the show. Come out and support him and give him some friendly
faces in the audience.

We need of a Chapter representative. Our past rep has decided to move on.
This is our representative to Muskies, Inc. There is one meeting that is required
to attend and information to and from MI and our Club is passed through this
person. If you are interested, you can call me, text me or e-mail me for details. I
am the SR for our Region 4 and on the board of MI.
