A hawker center is an open air cooked food
market place found in both city centers and the
heartlands. The dishes served are as authentic
(local-flavored) as it gets. You can get a hearty

u Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel
This signature cocktail was first concocted at the
Long Bar of Raffles Hotel by bartender Ngiam
Tong Boon in early 1900’s. Visit the 2 storey bar,

u Party at Clarke Quay
A dining and entertainment destination, Clarke

Suntec City resembles a left hand with the world’s
largest water fountain in it’s palm. When you are

u Funan DigitaLife Mall, all things electronics
This is one of the best places to go for all things
computer and tech-related. From laptops and ipads
to printers and digital cameras, headphones to
smart watches, there is always a bargain waiting for

u Bugis Village, the night market
Comprising of hundreds small stalls set up by
young entrepreneurs who source various
interesting goods from Asia, Bugis Village is the
place for nick nacks. Open from noon, it truly
comes alive after dusk.
u Thieves Market, open air flea market
Sungei Road Thieves Market in its heydays has
more than 400 vendors selling used items from
vinyl records, old cameras to jade and collector’s
stamps. Opens daily after 2pm, always bargain
before you buy!

Ever wonder why Singapore is called the Garden City? This city-state has
managed to retain many of its natural vegetation and is zealous in creating
more gardens and parks. Get a taste of nature at these hotspots:
u Gardens by the Bay
Located at prime marina district, spanning 101
ha of land, it is characterised by the 50m tall
steel super trees and the two iconic domes – the
Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, both housing
over 200,000 plants.
u Singapore Botanic & Orchid Gardens
This 150 year old garden spanning 74 ha of land
has an extensive range of more than 60,000
types of plants. Located within the Singapore
Botanic Gardens is the National Orchid Gardens
with the world’s largest orchid display.
u Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
Singapore’s only protected wetland nature park
is home to over 500 species of animals and
plants. The best time to visit is early morning
where all animals like otters, crabs and even
water snake are most active.
u Pulau Ubin
An island located in the northeast of Singapore,
it has an abundance of untouched natural flora
and fauna. Home to a significant number of
visiting and resident birds, it is a favorite spot for
bird watching.
u Fort Canning Park
One of Singapore’s most historic and beautiful
landmarks, this is where the British surrendered
Singapore to the Japanese during WWII. The
highlights are the spice garden, WWII bunker
and Gothic-styled gates.
u Southern Ridges
This 10km stretch of connecting trails lets you
walk among the trees to observe a wide variety
of flora and fauna in their natural habitat. You
can also get a panoramic view of the city,
harbour and the Southern Islands.
