Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the four main European airports. Schiphol is the
third largest European airport in terms of passenger numbers. The airport is easily
accessible by car and public transport. The railway station is directly underneath the
passenger terminal and offers 24/7 transportation to all major cities in the Netherlands
including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague.
Public transport

and connect most of the country. Within the Amsterdam metropolitan area, options
for travel – other than trains – include trams, metros and buses. Throughout the
Netherlands, the public transport chip card (‘OV-chipkaart’) is used. This can be either a
personalised or a non-personalised card that can be recharged and reused at any time.

Uber are available in major Dutch cities, but do not yet provide national coverage.
HOTEL/TRAVEL ACCOMMODATION
A new online booking tool for hotels and travel will be available from the second half
of 2019. More details will follow in due course.

Arrival information – how to get to the Sloterdijk
metro station
There are many ways to get to the Spark building, thanks to very good public
transport links via Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the railway, metro and bus stations:

LOCATION
The Spark building is located in the Sloterdijk area which is home to some of the city’s
largest creative and tech companies. It is situated around 3 km north-west of the city
centre. Since 2010, Sloterdijk has formed part of the West stadsdeel (borough). The
area has very good access to transport with its own train and metro stations, and is
easily accessible from Schiphol Airport. Spark is also easily accessible from Amsterdam
Central Station for those arriving by train.

Plenty of public cycle parking spaces are also available in the surroundings and near
Sloterdijk station.
Car parking
There are no parking facilities for visitors.
Limited paid parking is available in the Park and Ride facility near Sloterdijk station.

Please keep your badge in the lanyard provided and wear it throughout your visit to

elevators. Accessible restroom facilities are available next to the reception on level -2.
Toilets for mobility impaired persons are located on level -2, next to the parking
entrance, and also on levels 0 and 2, close to the lift lobby.
A pick-up and drop-off point for vehicles is available on Hanedastraat, next to
the building. Delegates and visitors can use this drop-off point when they come
to the Spark building via taxior private car.
