Freshman Housing Requirement
Freshmen who graduate from a high school located in a city outside a 30-mile radius of campus are required to live on campus during their
first year at SJSU. An appeal can be filed for an exception to this requirement once admitted. Learn more at sjsu.edu/housing
Residence at International House meets the freshman housing requirement. If you are interested in living in the I-House, you must

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to
be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to
increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All
CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees, the Chancellor,
or the Presidents, as appropriate. Changes in mandatory systemwide fees will be made in accordance with the requirements of the
Working Families Student Fee Transparency and Accountability Act (Sections 66028 - 66028.6 of the Education Code).
California Residency for Tuition Purposes
The determination of residency for tuition purposes affects whether a student pays in-state or out-of-state tuition fees. Out-of-state
tuition fees are higher than in-state tuition fees. Just because a student is or has been a resident of the State of California does not
mean that he or she qualifies to receive the in-state tuition rate. Certain requirements, established under California law, must be met.

If you attended high school in California for at least three full years and graduated or earned an equivalent degree, you may be
