Where there is Unity there is Community!
Hello Hopewell Residents:
Recreation is the refreshment of the mind, body, and spirit through play. It brings happiness as well as
builds structure, empowerment, and friendships; things we all need and crave in these challenging
times. Our goal, this season, is to get our community connected again through Recreation, while
prioritizing everyone’s health and safety. We will continue to bring to you the all the core programs that
you have come to look for and rely on, but we have been diligently working to bring you new programs,
camps, and events, so there is literally something for EVERYONE!! Whether you are 3 or 93, or
anywhere in between, we have a something for YOU!!
Adding onto our “Movies in the Park” from last summer, we will be expanding our family nights at Wool-
sey to include “Concerts in the Park”. We are also very excited to be hosting MLB “Pitch, Hit, and
Run” event at the Municipal Athletic Complex this May as well as bringing “Soap Box Derby” racing to
Hopewell. These are all great family events that can be relished by all and most are FREE!
For our Adult and Senior residents, we will once again be offering our Tennis Program and virtual
painting classes including: “Ladies Paint Night” and two original “Painting Pals” classes that are
perfect to share with your child or grandchildren!! Missing Broadway? Join us for a “Broadway’s
Beginnings Virtual Tour” in April. Seniors, we have outdoor activities planned just for you including a
Magic Show and Musical Concert. Also, don’t forget to check out our Local & Community Trips.
With warm weather on the horizon, now is the time to register your child for a Spring program or Summer
Camp! We have 7 brand new programs this year, including Pre-K Camps, “Rec Camp in the Park” as
well as a “Nature Sketch” camp for older artists. Our well known favorites are back as well including
“Art in the Park”, and a variety of sports camps and clinics! Our Spring programs for children has also
expanded immensely including Spring Break offerings! There is truly is a camp or program for every
child to enjoy and benefit from!!
I am excited to bring our community into 2021 with a promise of “better things to come” as we stay patient
and positive in the days ahead. Regardless with what this year has in store for us, the Recreation
Department will continue to be here for you. Remember we are “Hopewell Strong” and there is no doubt
that we will certainly shine as the sun clears, the clouds part and we continue to live our lives eclipsing
where we were yesterday.
