NRC Fall Activity Guide 2020
Audrey Gann, Program Director, agann@newtonrec.org NRC INFORMATION
Message from the Superintendent
The Newton Recreation Commission is committed to providing a safe and protective environment for
you and your family. We look forward to continuing to serve the needs of our community during these
challenging times.
We will continue the enforcement of precautions as necessary to preserve the health of our community.
The NRC will follow guidelines for safety that the Kansas Recreation and Parks Association (KRPA) has
outlined with the approval of Governor Kelly. We ask that every participant or fan attending an event or
activity wear a mask into our facilities when 6 foot social distancing cannot be maintained. Hand sanitizer
is also provided in several key locations around the Activity Center for our patrons convenience and
protection.
During our sporting events, we will require our coaches and supervisors to practice safety measures
according to the guidelines that were provided to us by KRPA. We continue to stay in close contact with
the Harvey County Health Department to make sure that we are following our local guidelines.
It is also important to understand that an increase of COVID-19 exposure in our community could
require stricter measures to be implemented. Please be patient as we mutually work towards the best
possible situation for our community.
We look forward to seeing you. Be safe.
