ART IN NATURE CAMP
The bounty of nature has provided inspiration for art throughout
history. Nature-focused art reminds us of the importance of protecting
and preserving our natural resources for the future. This camp will
expose children to the beauty of nature and encourage them to express
their perceptions through art using a variety of mediums. Nature
photography, sketching, leaf printing, jewelry creation and other art
forms will be the basis for this camp. The last day of the week will
feature an art show displaying the art created by the campers, open to
parents and to the public in the historic Dr. C.B. Wilson house. After
the short exhibit, campers will be able to take their creations home.
Participants in this camp should be prepared to be outdoors collecting
inspiration and materials for their creations. Recommended items to
bring include sunblock, water, insect repellant, and a snack. All art

BRICKS 4 KIDZ STOP MOTION ANIMATION CAMP
Lights, camera, LEGO® action! Campers tell a story, complete
with music, special effects and all their favorite LEGO® mini-figure
characters! Campers plan, script, stage, shoot and produce their
own mini-movie using stop-motion animation. Working in teams,
campers build sets and props, then shoot their movie. Teams use
software to add special effects, titles, credits and more. Family and
friends enjoy a week-ending screening party. Campers take home a
custom mini-figure, certificate and a DVD of their movie creation.
Camp fee includes tech fee.

Grab your katanas and nun-chucks, as we prepare to fight crime
with the Teenage Brick Turtles. Practice engineering as we build

Master Splinter. Strengthen your ninjutsu skills to defeat the

JUNIOR TENNIS / SWIM CAMP - RETURNS!
Develop your skill as a tennis player, learn the fundamentals from
certified pros and compete against your campmates in a variety of
dead ball, live ball and match play drills. Afterwards, cool off in the

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD CAMP
Spend a week with professional lifeguards learning the fundamentals
of lifeguarding. This program offers hands-on learning experiences
and character-building activities while having fun. Lifeguards with
the Sarasota County Beach Patrol train participants in water safety,
rescue techniques, rescue paddling, competitive lifeguard events,
how to identify and treat marine life, CPR and first aid. Fee includes
a rash guard, T-shirt, bag and water bottle. Swimsuits are required.
To participate, all potential and returning campers must attend a
30-minute try-out session at Arlington Pool and demonstrate the
ability to swim 100 yards freestyle in 2 minutes 10 seconds, tread
water for 5 minutes and retrieve an object from the bottom of the
pool. Tryouts are offered from 9-10:30 a.m. every Saturday in May
including Memorial Day weekend. Reserve your date during online
registration or indicate date on mail-in form. No additional tryouts
will be offered.
