                                                                         ART IN NATURE CAMP
                                                                         The bounty of nature has provided inspiration for art throughout
                                                                         history. Nature-focused art reminds us of the importance of protecting
                                                                         and preserving our natural resources for the future. This camp will
                                                                         expose children to the beauty of nature and encourage them to express
                                                                         their perceptions through art using a variety of mediums. Nature
                                                                         photography, sketching, leaf printing, jewelry creation and other art
                                                                         forms will be the basis for this camp. The last day of the week will
                                                                         feature an art show displaying the art created by the campers, open to
                                                                         parents and to the public in the historic Dr. C.B. Wilson house. After
                                                                         the short exhibit, campers will be able to take their creations home.
                                                                         Participants in this camp should be prepared to be outdoors collecting

Lights, camera, LEGO® action! Campers tell a story, complete
with music, special effects and all their favorite LEGO® mini-figure

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD CAMP
Spend a week with professional lifeguards learning the fundamentals
of lifeguarding. This program offers hands-on learning experiences
and character-building activities while having fun. Lifeguards with
the Sarasota County Beach Patrol train participants in water safety,
rescue techniques, rescue paddling, competitive lifeguard events,
how to identify and treat marine life, CPR and first aid. Fee includes
a rash guard, T-shirt, bag and water bottle. Swimsuits are required.
To participate, all potential and returning campers must attend a
30-minute try-out session at Arlington Pool and demonstrate the
ability to swim 100 yards freestyle in 2 minutes 10 seconds, tread
water for 5 minutes and retrieve an object from the bottom of the
pool. Tryouts are offered from 9-10:30 a.m. every Saturday in May
including Memorial Day weekend. Reserve your date during online

VIDEO GAMER CAMP – BEGINNER
This is an introductory adventure into the world of video game design.
Build your very own 3-D video game with drag-and-drop simplicity.
Manipulate the style and look of each enemy, weapon and hero.
Campers learn how to navigate software tools using a basic 3-D game-
making program. Choose from over 360 environments, 320 sounds and
more than 500 3-D objects totaling 12 million possible combinations.
Each participant keeps the gaming software. Call camp office for
complete system requirements for home use of software. Windows XP
requires download of free patch. Software not compatible with Macs.
