Superheroes vs. Villains Schedule of Events – 2020 Thursday, August 13th 8:00-5:00p.m. Residence Life Move-In Check in to your residence hall at Morgan, Delzell or the Complex at your assigned time. 8:00-5:00p.m. All offices are open: Visit the One Stop Shop, Admissions, TRiO/SSS and ADA/Disability Services (CATS building) as needed. 8:30-5:00p.m. CAT CAVE spirit store will be open. Stop and shop for Peru State gear! Located in the Student Center 9:00-5:00p.m. Movie showing: Terminator: Dark Fate- ResLife Cinema Grab your computer and visit movies.peru.edu to watch Terminator: Dark Fate after you move in. What to watch something else? Explore our ResLife Cinema platform to watch another movie you missed in theaters. * You must be on the Peru State Wifi to access movies.peru.edu 11:00-5:00p.m. Peru State Tik Tok Challenge- Virtual Challenge Done moving and looking for something to do? Participate in the tik tok challenge by recording a video submitting it to studentactivities@peru.edu to be featured on our Peru State Tik tok page. 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. COVID Testing- Oak Bowl (Football Stadium) To better ensure the safety of all our students, all students will be tested for COVID-19 by Test Nebraska. The test will be administered by trained staff and results will be sent to each student. Students are required to self-isolate until results come back. More information on procedures once results are received will be discussed in the Welcome Week Kick-off.
Students must arrive based on the time slots below. If you have a residence hall move-in time that conflicts with your testing time, please be sure to take your COVID test before 6 p.m. Morgan Hall: 4 p.m. Delzell Hall: 5 p.m. Centennial Complex: 5 p.m. 5:00p.m.Commuter Student Welcome Week Check-in and Testing- Oak Bowl Commuter students will meet with the Welcome Week Staff to collect their Welcome Week bag and information about the weekend. Following the check-in students will take their COVID test. 5:00p.m. Farewell to Families Families are dismissed for the remainder of the weekend and encouraged to say their goodbyes at this time. After their goodbye, students will head to dinner based on their assigned dinner time. *Students only from this point on 5:00-7:00p.m. Dinner Located in the Dining Hall. Unprotected and on the run, Quinn faces the wrath of narcissistic crime boss Black Mask, his right- hand man, Victor Zsasz, and every other thug in the city. But things soon even out for Harley when she becomes unexpected allies with three deadly women. Friday, August 14th 7:30-8:30a.m. Continental Breakfast – Student Center Dining Hall Make sure you stop in for breakfast as we have a busy and fun-filled day ahead! 8:30-8:50a.m. Top Cat Group Meetup- Announcements/Overview of the weekend – Meeting location will be communicated by your Top Cat Get updated on events and what the schedule will look like for the day. Educational Session Block 1 9:00-10a.m. Bystander Intervention Learn how to identify and intervene in potentially harmful situations to serve as an ally for your fellow Bobcats! Conversation with the Faculty Students will meet with their College 101 faculty/staff members to have an open discussion on what they expect from students in the classroom. This session will allow students to become more familiar with their faculty receive tips, advice, and answers to questions before classes begin! Bobcat Rally for New Students Ashleigh and the Student Coordinators will lead students in an interactive and fun way to build your teams and make new campus friendships. 10:10-11:10a.m. Bystander Intervention Learn how to identify and intervene in potentially harmful situations to serve as an ally for your fellow Bobcats! Conversation with the Faculty Students will meet with their College 101 faculty/staff members to have an open discussion on what they expect from students in the classroom. This session will allow students to become more familiar with their faculty receive tips, advice, and answers to questions before classes begin! It’s all about learning how to C.A.R.E! 11:20-1:30p.m. Lunch- please check your name badge for your assigned time to eat lunch. 11:20a.m. 11:50a.m. 12:20p.m. 12:50p.m. 2:00p.m. Omaha Against Hunger – AWAC Omaha Against Hunger mobilizes volunteers to package the highly nutritious Kids Against Hunger food product through a proven and efficient assembly system. This project gives our students an opportunity to contribute “hands-on” in preparing food for those in need. Group Meeting & Campus Tours Meet up at the designated area to have a debrief of the day. Have a real talk with your fellow Top Cats, answering the questions you have. Campus tours Students will be taken on a tour to locate their classrooms before Monday morning. 3:10p.m. Omaha Against Hunger – AWAC Group Meeting & Campus Tours - PAC Free Time: For groups that did feeding 44 4:00-6:00p.m. ‘Commercial Break’ The Mingle Hour- TJ Majors Lawn Sponsored by Outdoor Life Club and the Resident Assistants (RAs)
