CULTURAL LEARNING AT MANGO HILL
VILLAGE
Throughout the month of May our team at Mango Hill Village were lucky enough to have Christine Stuart
from Bulu Yabun visit their service. Bulu Yabun offer Aboriginal Cultural Education Workshops. They
specialise in embedding Aboriginal culture, history and language in the classroom.
The team were lucky enough to have Christine visit twice this month to teach our children in the Wattle
room all about the traditional custodians of the land. The children learnt about traditional ways of living,
hunting and survival.

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE
All LEAD Childcare Centres cater for children up to 12 years of age. We offer extensive and inclusive
programs for school age children so they feel like they have the freedom to explore and interact with
children of their own age, whilst being in a safe and secure environment.
Our School Age Care Educators are equipped with the knowledge and experience to allow the children to
create their own program whilst providing our children with open-ended environments and experiences.
Our Centres have bus services available for all parents to utilize. This helps with the hustle and bustle of

GOODNA
We offer flexible, child-initiated routines that allow a sense of autonomy and to build feelings of value
within the children. This helps children to develop an understanding of themselves and their bodies as they
learn to identify and care for their needs.
We welcome external programs to attend our service, building community connections and providing the
children with life skills. This includes Dental, Fire, and Police visits; we even had Vet bring in their dogs!
Currently, we receive weekly visits from Ginger Sports who run a soccer program.
One of our biggest assets are our terrific Educators! There is nothing that can replace a strong team of
like-minded individuals who are dedicated to providing quality care and assisting young people to learn
and grow to reach their full potential, that’s why LEAD Childcare Goodna is the place to be.

MANGO HILL
We value each of our children’s voices and input which has seen the introduction of our ‘Kindy
Committee’. Our Early Childhood teachers collaborate with our children, using the committee meetings as
a time to come together in a relaxed environment. Recent committee meetings have focused on our
outdoor environment, with the children openly discussing our bike path and what improvements they would
like to make within this area.
Sustainability is an important aspect of our daily life here at LEAD Childcare Mango Hill. There are many
ways we embed sustainable practices throughout our service. We endeavour to support all ages to learn
to nurture and develop their knowledge on their natural world. As we explore our natural environment, we
will introduce native plant into our centre gardens. By exclusively planting native plants we are further
embedding links to our indigenous culture.
As part of our exploration of other living things, our Kindy children have discussed investing in a Native
Australian Beehive. These Australian bees will be utilized through many of our projects and investigations.
We are so excited to offer another experience to engage our children of all ages in fun and meaningful
learning.
