               楊大昉醫師收藏 (Lot 9 to 20)
               Dr TF Yeung, an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor in Hong
               Kong since the mid 1960s, migrated to Sydney in 1999
               for retirement. His collection included Lingnan paintings
               and ceramic plaques from Republic period, which was
               sold with Bonhams Sydney and an outstanding success.

範自魁、範敏琪父子,是景德鎮更爲 熟識的父子檔,市場偶有其二位的

作品釋出。範敬琪則不爲 人熟悉。從姓名推測,當是範敏琪同輩的範
自魁嫡傳無疑。景德鎮民囯時期瓷板名家於建國后或繼續創作、或衣
缽傳人,在用料及燒製工藝上延續傳統,而在藝術上以建國后乃至文
革時期風格革新。延續民囯瓷板的走俏,近年市場對二十世紀中期這
段特殊時期的瓷板創作也日益追捧,並將之以速記「五、六、七」命
名。二範合作的這組瓷板卻是「五、六、七」以後改革開放創匯時期
的作品。用料發色上與文革時期相仿,畫風卻回復到了清代宮廷院体
的風格,想必是應當時市場需求。八十年代楊醫生正於香港行醫,其

                                  板。黃山壽對此題材更屢屢入畫。《海上丹青》2005年6月刊中錄著
                                  黃山壽四條屏中其一《富貴壽考》與此軸構圖、設色、人物衣飾開臉
                                  如出一轍,此軸或為黃所做亦未可知。

               Huang Binhong moved to Beijing in 1937 and started teaching in the
               Beijing Fine Art Academy till 1948, when he moved to Hangzhou to
               continue teaching. Huang left behind thousands of sketches, and
               drafts as teaching aids, some of which were published to offer an
               insight into Huang's artistic pursuit. The typical way Huang addresses
               the dedication in this current lot implies that the dedicated is a
               colleague of Huang's in a teaching environment.

               Fu Hua, co-founder of the Paintings Academy in Shanghai in 1956, is
               a renowned Shanghai-school artist. Resided in London and Sydney
               since the late 1980s, he has only permanently returned to Shanghai in

Probably due to the demountable nature of plank-top
pedestal tables, complete surviving examples tend to be
rare. Some 'display stands' seen on the commercial market
might have been the remaining pedestals after the planks
were either missing or repurposed. It is also due to the
flexible form that these tables are so versatile, fitting for a
variety of spaces.

mentioned components, their outlines traced with 'scrolling cloud'
edges in low relief. This contrasts the fully decorated metal mounts
with uniformly engraved 'scrolling lotus' against ring-punched
grounds.

A similarly designed folding armchair, with simplistic carving and
elaborated metalwork was sold with Christie's, New York, Fine
Chinese Furniture, Ceramics and Works of Art, 16 October 2001, sale
