Manipal University Dubai ties up with University of Fraser Valley Canada, Whistling Woods International and
Lancaster University for exciting programs in Management, Media & Entertainment, Bio Technology and
Engineering

exchanged between the University of Fraser Valley ( UFV), British Columbia from Canada andManipal U n i v e r s i
t y . T h i s relationshipbetween the twoUniversities envisages the students of BBM ( E-Banking and Financeat
Manipal) and BBA ( Manipal-Dubai Campus ) to continue theirstudies at the University of Fraser Val l e y i n B r i t i
s h Columbia inCanada. with a provision for 100Percent Credits transfer. A similar plan is in the pipeline for
students of Information Sciences at the Manipal-Dubai campus. Students studying at UFV'sChandigarh campus in
India will beoffered to do a few courses with the Departmentof Commerce at Manipal.
According tothe 2008 Globe and Mail's Canadian UniversityReport, the University of theFraser Valley was ranked
as the top public universityin British Columbiafor overall qualityof education,quality of teaching, most satisfied
students, beststudent- facultyinteraction, and best career preparation. In Geopolitical terms British Columbia on the
Western side of Canada is seen to bethe next immigration hotspot for Asians. Experts feel that British Columbia

Dubai campus to offer exciting Media Management course
- One year of training at Dubai and one year at Subhash Ghai's WhistlingWoods Institute in Mumbai.
Manipal University(MU) Dubai campus has entered into an agreement withthe Whistling Woods International Ltd to
offer a two year MBA programme inMedia Management. The world's most enthralling and best known hub ofactivity
Dubai and the birthplace ofBollywood Mumbai, two cities that make adeadly cocktail! The course seems to be
offering its aspirants a goodexperience of the global melting pots of cultures. While the first year of theprogramme
will be conducted at MU-Dubai campus covering all generalmanagement subjects and media case studies, the
second year of theprogramme consists of one year of internship / industrial training at WhistlingWoods premises
located at Mumbai. A six month Certificate programme in Mediawould also be offered to students at Dubai campus.

The MBA (M&E) Programme combines the best of both worlds –Business and Entertainment, by coupling

other. Thetwo- year MBA programme in Media and Entertainment will have specialisations inFilm, Broadcasting,
New and interactive Media and Event Management.
The First Year of the Programme would be conducted at ManipalUniversity’s Campus in Bangalore and will cover

A Memorandumof Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between the Department ofBiotechnology &
Engineering of the Manipal University- Dubai Campus and theSchool of Health and Medicine which is a part of the
Faculty of Science andTechnology of the Lancaster University, UK.
The students will be offered analternative pathway into international higher education in the UK and it ishoped that
it will also facilitate the exchange of staff and provideopportunity for joint research projects. An academic study fund
would beestablished to facilitate staff exchanges
What's on offer ?
·1 + 2 degree program for Biotechnologystudents . Students entering this program would spend the first year in
Manipal-Dubai's Department of Biotechnologyand the last two years of their studiesat the LU School of Health and
Medicine
·2 + 2 degree program for engineeringstudents . Students entering this programme would spend their first two
yearsin MU Dubai's Department of Engineering andthe last two years of the studies at the LU Faculty of Science
and Technology.
To be admitted to Lancaster,students need to have a good grade point average in the first two years oftheir
courses in Manipal and have at least 60% in Standard 10 in English and anIELTS or TOEFL certificate might be
required for visa purposes. They will alsoneed to provide two academic references with their application.
