Welcome Note from Mr Jerry Foley
Founder & CEO of West of Ireland Golf
It is a great honour for me to represent the West of Ireland in the most exciting launch in
Irish Golf Tourism in recent years. There are few places in the world that offer a selection of

there is so much more on offer in the West of Ireland.
West of Ireland Golf has partnered with Ireland’s Best Inbound Golf Tour Operator Fairways and FunDays to
offer a superb selection of golf tours to the region. The Atlantic Ocean forms a pivotal part of the beauty of
the region and indeed the West of Ireland is a major attraction on the Wild Atlantic Way coastal route.
The teams at West of Ireland Golf & Fairways and FunDays have two core values:
1. To provide all of our clients with the most magical golf tour experience imaginable
2. To offer our tours at the best prices available.

well as Galway, Mayo and Sligo County Councils. The support of these agencies has been critical in building
this strong brand.
On behalf of West of Ireland Golf & Fairways and FunDays, we look forward to welcoming you to Ireland.
We can promise you an unforgettable experience both “on and off” the golf courses.

Course Description:
Galway Bay Golf Resort, designed by Christy O’Connor Jnr, sits on the Wild

Burren in County Clare. When designing the Course, O’Connor Jnr blended the
backdrop with the rugged curves of the Atlantic Ocean with mature trees, water
hazards, concealed bunkers and highly acclaimed putting surfaces. Water features
on 9 of the 18 holes at Galway Bay Golf Resort, and the Atlantic Ocean acts as a
natural hazard.
The immaculate course was the host venue of the 2018 Irish PGA
Championship, and has won some prestigious awards recently, including Best

The course is only a 15 minute drive outside the beautiful City of Galway and
was recently the host of the prestigious Connacht Finals, Carey Cup (Biennial
Tournament featuring the top 6 Amateur players from Ireland against their
counterparts from USA).
If you’re visiting Galway, European Capital of Culture 2020, a trip to Galway Bay
