Tring Lions Club – Geography Quizzes

Please Note: We have been receiving feedback on our geography quiz and a few little
glitches have been pointed out to us:
Country Quiz.
22 The spelling of the ‘New Zealander’ in the answer is incorrect
33 One letter in the anagram is incorrect
The original answer to question 35 was Male, but that is a capital not a country, so we have
substituted a different clue:
35 Love Island (4)
Every year Tring Lions prepare a quiz sheet with 100 cryptic clues on a particular subject,
last years was on London Underground Stations. We normally sell the quiz sheets for £1 and
award monetary prizes for the top three entries.
We have just finished preparing this year’s quiz, which we would have published later on in
the year, but, in the current circumstances, we thought it might give people something to
do whilst they are being urged to ‘STAY AT HOME’.
So, you are more than welcome to have a go. We have split the quiz into 2.
Quiz 1 – Countries
Quiz 2 – Capital Cities
The answers will be published on our website on 1st May 2020
www.tringlions.org.uk
We would very much like to know how you got on so please email
Penny.tregillus@tringlions.org.uk
……and let us know how many you got right. We might even award you a prestigious
Certificate of Merit.
Please feel free to circulate the quiz to anyone you think might be interested.
