N E W WAY O F S E E I N G T H I N G S ” – HENRY MILLER
I love this quote about what it means to travel—I feel it simply and concisely sums up my own
complex and long-held feelings about the magic of sailing. Travel is a gift that allows us the luxury
of viewing the world through a new lens, one colored by a heightened understanding of others
cultures and lifestyles. Travel highlights the similarities as well as the differences in each new place
we visit, and provides us with fresh perspectives.
Similarly, to sail the globe on board an authentic tall ship is to gain a new perspective on what it
means to “cruise.” Star Clippers sailings offer an experience that is both modern and classic, but
never ordinary, and certainly inimitable. Our tall ships embrace the romance of sailing the open
ocean, using wind charts to navigate to small ports and harbors that larger ships can’t access. At
the same time, we’ve made sure our modern ships offer guests all the comfort and amenities you
would expect from a luxury yacht.
The 2022 season will see some exciting changes to our sailing itineraries. Star Clipper, which has
been sailing in Southeast Asia, will be joining her sisters in the Mediterranean in April, marking the
first time in five years that all three ships will sail together in this beautiful part of the world. As part
of the transition from Asia, Star Clipper will sail though the famed Suez Canal, offering guests the
unique opportunity to pass through the sea-level waterway which connects the Mediterranean
Sea to the Red Sea on board an authentic tall sailing ship. For those of you looking to sail in Thai-
land onboard one of our ships, there’s still time to book your cabin for the winter 2021/2022 season.
I’m also thrilled to announce that for the first time since 2014, Star Clippers will be calling on ports
in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, as well as Panama and its famed canal, starting November 2022 as
the Star Clipper sets sail for Central America. Seven-day sailings round trip out of Puerto Caldera
call on favorite Costa Rican towns as well as ports in Panama or Nicaragua, depending on itinerary.
These new itineraries take guests to tranquil beaches like the ones on idyllic Isla Tortuga, Costa
Rica and “deserted islands” such as Isla San Jose in the Pearl Islands, a 44 kilometer slice of para-
dise. Nature lovers will adore the port town of Quepos, Costa Rica, located near the magnificent
Manuel Antonio National Park, where they can encounter monkeys, sloths, and nearly 450 species
of birds that call the park home.
No matter what part of the globe you choose to visit, we promise you a unique, intimate cruise ex-
perience not possible on a larger ship. While on board, embrace the nautical life and help raise the
sails and learn to tie a proper knot. Pass an afternoon relaxing in the hammock-like bowsprit net,
suspended over the blue water, or climb the mast to the Crow’s Nest for the ultimate panoramic
view. While on board, we encourage you to do everything, or nothing at all.
To our new Star Clippers friends, we’re grateful you found us, and we look forward to welcoming
you onboard soon. To our long time Star Clippers family, thank you, and I offer you a warm welcome
back.
Until then, I wish you fair winds and a following sea.

never get the sensation that there’s not enough time, and there are no tight timelines to
stress you out. You are free to determine how to spend your time onboard—full of daily
activities or just peaceful relaxation. Take advantage of the complimentary water sports
and enjoy the warm seas. Watch the bartender mix delightful cocktails in the Tropical Bar
and chat with newfound friends about your day. Up on deck, do not miss the incredible
sail-away, where the Captain artfully instructs the crew to raise the massive, majestic sails
while Vangelis plays in the background.
S O F T E N T E R TA I N M E N T
In various destinations that we visit, we invite local performers onboard to entertain our
guests with an authentic taste of their music and arts. In addition, we have a piano on ev-
ery ship and a very talented entertainer who can play your favorite tunes or spin the latest
musical hits. Or just enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow shipmates, take part in a guest
& crew talent show or dress up to join in the fun on pirate night.
N AU T I C A L E V EN T S & AC T I V IT IE S
Muster up your sense of adventure and climb the mast to the “Crow’s Nest” (almost 100
feet in the air) for spectacular panoramic views. Or relax in the bowsprit at the front of the
ship, suspended over the ocean, with dolphins swimming below you in the Caribbean.
Join a team of guests and use your strength to assist in pulling up a sail. Knot tying and
navigation classes that have evolved from Star Clippers’ sailing tradition, are also yours for
the taking. These fun and different activities plus the laid-back casual ambience of Star
Clippers create the not-to-be-missed overall sailing experience what makes our guests
come back again and again.

THE T WIN SISTER SHIPS
Sisterships Star Clipper and Star Flyer are true Clipper Ships reflecting their proud
heritage in every inch of their polished brass and gleaming charm. Star Clipper
and Star Flyer are modern small ships in every way, created for adventure-loving
passengers looking for the tradition and romance of the legendary era of sailing
ships but with the comforts and amenities of the present day. As identical twins,
they are both 379 feet long and each carry 166 guests in pampered comfort, over
36,000 square feet of sails. Sixteen sails billowing in the wind.
N A U T I C A L H E R I TA G E
Each ship offers spacious accommodations and expansive teak decks with am-
ple space for walking and relaxation. In fact, you’ll find that these ships offer
more outdoor space per passenger than most conventional cruise ships. The
decor of Star Clipper and Star Flyer is reminiscent of the grand age of sail with
a modern touch. Antique prints and paintings of famous sailing ships appeal to
the eye, while polished decks and gleaming mahogany rails are richly remindful
of Star Clippers’ proud nautical heritage.
MODERN AMENITIES
Both ships feature open-seating dining in an elegantly appointed dining room,
delightful indoor and outdoor Tropical and Piano bars, and an Edwardian-style
library where a Belle Époque fireplace glows with a warmth that reflects the
friendliness and enthusiasm of Star Clippers’ hospitable officers and crew.
CLE AN ENERGY
Star Clipper and Star Flyer use very pure, high-quality low Sulphur gas oil for
which the company was awarded the International Air Pollution Prevention Cer-
tificate. Star Flyer was the first ship in the world to receive the award.

You may think you know the Caribbean but visiting this gorgeous part of the
globe onboard one of our tall ships allows for a completely fresh perspective.
Standing on deck, watching the sails rise while the sunset turns the sky from
blue to gold is an experience you won’t find on other cruise ships, and one you’ll
never forget. Plan ahead and select your preferred sailing in 2021, 2022 or 2023!
Two of our ships, Royal Clipper and Star Flyer, spend the winter season sailing
the Caribbean Sea visiting well-known islands like St. Barts and Barbados as
well as off-the-beaten path gems like Bequia and Nevis. On Star Flyer, you’ll have
a choice of itineraries visiting either the Leeward Islands, sailing south, or the
Treasure Islands, sailing west, departing from beautiful St. Maarten. Royal Clip-

Grenadine Islands. If you haven’t yet experienced the thrill of sailing alongside a Star Clippers ship

Royal Clipper offers the opportunity to experience a true bucket list experience
adventure, a sailing through the great Panama Canal. Built over 100 years ago
connecting the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, the canal offers an enthralling histor-

For the first time since 2014, Star Clippers will calling on ports in Costa Rica and
Nicaragua, as well as Panama and its famed canal, as the Star Clipper sets sail for
Central America starting November 2022.
With an expansive rain forest and beaches flanking both the Pacific Ocean and
Caribbean Sea, Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world.
In fact, this small country boasts nearly half a million species of plants and an-
imals inhabiting less than 20,000 square miles. The lush natural environment
translates to plenty of opportunities for unique exploration, including kayaking
through the fascinating mangrove forests, getting a birds-eye view on a canopy
forest tours, or simply combing the pristine beaches for shells.
A pair of seven-day sailings round trip out of Puerto Caldera call on favorite Costa
Rican towns as well as ports in Panama and Nicaragua, depending on which itin-
erary you choose. The port town of Quepos, located near the magnificent Manu-
el Antonio National Park, allows guests the opportunities to encounter monkeys,
sloths, and nearly 450 species of birds that call the park home. The beaches on
idyllic Isla Tortuga are ideal for snorkeling or taking a dip in the turquoise waters.
In San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, the beaches offer incredible surfing, and guests
can glimpse the Mirador del Cristo de la Misericordia statue at the northern end
of the bay—one of the largest statues of Jesus in the world. Two sailings between Balboa, Panama, and Costa Rica offer a deeper dive into
this intriguing country. The uninhabited Isla Iguana is a wildlife reserve located
on Panama’s Pacific coast where guests can watch the colorful frigate birds fly
in formation and visit expansive coral reefs containing more than 500 marine
species including rare olive ridley sea turtles. Travelers looking for their “deserted
island” moment will love Isla San Jose in the Pearl Islands, a 44 kilometer slice
of paradise.
With more than 800 miles of coastline and spectacular coral reefs, Costa Rica of-
fers incredible opportunities for snorkeling. Star Clippers water sports program
allows guests to borrow snorkeling equipment for the duration of the sailing,
which they can use to their hearts content.
Two Panama Canal sailings at the beginning and end of the season allow guests
to experience the awe-inspiring feat of engineering firsthand. These 14-night
journeys travel between Bridgetown, Barbados, and Balboa, Panama with ports
of call in Aruba, Grenada and Columbia, among others.

19SOUTHEAST ASIA
The exotic ports of the Far East have called to traders, adventurers and explorers for centuries, and now they
call to you. The aromas of spice markets beckon and friendly locals await to show off the intriguing culture
and history of this vibrant part of the globe. Opportunities for adventure abound, from diving and snorkeling
in the Andaman Sea to visiting ancient temples and ruins and exploring both wild jungles and bustling cities.
Don’t miss our Star Clippers Farewell in Southeast Asia! Join us sailing the waters around Thailand and Malay-
sia and Indonesia for the very last time in 2021 to April 2022.
The 2021 season offers two, 14-night repositioning sailings which allow guests to explore the beauty of some
of Indonesia’s 17,500 islands. The crossings start or end in Singapore, where you will enjoy exploring the coun-
try’s famed cuisine from food stalls or trendy eateries mixed with exotic ports of call which will delight the
explorer in you.
Thailand remains a favorite sailing destination for our guests, and we continue to offer north and south-
bound routes from Phuket in the spring months. Sailing through dramatic Patong Bay, studded with sheer
limestone crags rising out of crystal-clear water, makes for stunning photo opportunities, while wandering
through UNESCO-listed historic cities of Melaka and George Town in Malacca, Malaysia uncovers the diverse
culture of this fascinating region.
Our 10- and 11-night itineraries roundtrip from Ko Samui—known for its palm fringes beaches and coconut
groves—also feature stops in the magical nation of Cambodia. Ports of call here include the island of Koh
Rong, a wildlife paradise boasting lush forests and pristine beaches, and Sihanoukville, a trendy coastal city
known for its freshly caught seafood. An optional, two-day excursion to visit the temple complex of Angkor
Wat in Siem Reap is a must-do for those seeking to uncover this country’s rich history.
In the summer months, Star Clipper continues to explore exotic Indonesia. Here, our seven night itineraries
out of Benoa, Bali provide a vibrant mix of culture and natural beauty including visits to Lovina Beach, known
for its dramatic black sand and calm seas, and the tiny, uninhabited island of Satonda, believed by locals to
be sacred and surrounded by coral reefs ideal for snorkeling and diving.
Finally, in the spring, Star Clipper heads to Borneo for 10- and 11- night sailings between Singapore and Kota
Kinabalu where guests can take in the busy markets or check out the growing arts and music scene. The city
also serves as the gateway to Kinabalu National Park, where Mount Kinabalu stands at 13,400 feet. Other high-
lights include Bandar Seri Begawan, home to the world’s largest water village and Gunung Mulu National Park
in Miri, Malaysia featuring the world’s largest cave chamber. From Kuching guests can visit Bako and Kubah
National Parks where thousands of indigenous species of birds, wildlife and plant life can be found.

There’s no other adventure quite like crossing the ocean onboard a cruise ship—
never mind on board a modern clipper ship! Star Clippers offers an unparalleled
ocean crossing experience to our guests that encourages you to commune with
the ocean, seek out a quiet sanctuary on deck to take in the scenery, and enjoy
the authentic experience of crossing the Atlantic onboard a true sailing ship.
Fall 2021 and 2022 bring guests the opportunity to do a Westbound crossing on
both the Star Flyer and our flagship Royal Clipper, which will travel from Cannes,
France to Barbados on an epic 28-night journey that includes stops in Corsi-
ca, Italy, Spain, Morocco and Portugal before arriving in historic Bridgetown. A
16-night version out of Lisbon, which pays call on ports in Spain and Morocco
along the way, is also available for those looking for a shorter itinerary. Star Flyer
will depart from Malaga in November, visiting ports in Morocco, Spain and the
Canary Islands before arriving in St. Maarten.
In April 2022 Royal Clippers will depart to her 16- or 28-night Eastbound crossing
from Barbados with stop in the Azores going to Lisbon or all the way to Rome,
visiting Portugal, Morocco, Spain and France.
We invite you to relish in the thrill of traversing the ocean under full sail—an ex-
perience that’s unmatched by any other cruise line. Spend your days at sea get-
ting to know your fellow travelers or relax with a good book and the endless
horizon stretched out before you. Enjoy the sensation of seeing the water stretch
below as you lay in the bowsprit netting, feel the steadying power of the sails as
they capture the energy of the wind and power your ship through the expanse
of the ocean. Make this your year for the ultimate in sailing—a crossing aboard
Star Clippers.
