Programme Overview
The Venture & Innovation Programme is a structured Education &
Career Guidance (ECG) programme specially designed for
undergraduates who are interested in startups and tech
companies.
Students will get the chance to undergo a virtual attachment
experience as an entrepreneur (Venture Track) or innovation
consultant (Innovation Track).
Contact Hours: 10 Consecutive Weeks, h
Students will join a 1-week Training Phase, followed by a
choice of the 8-week Venture Track or 8-week Innovation
Track. This culminates in a Demo Day in the final week.
Venue: Online; Students attend from anywhere in the world.
Teaching Blended Learning; There will be a mix of independent work,

Class Size: Public Cohort: No minimum class size. Students from your
school will join in a public run with students from other
schools.
Private Cohort: Minimum 20 students. A special private
course will be run for students from your school only.

Programme Overview
Venture Track (8 Weeks)
In this track, students will form teams of up to 3
co-founders, and they will develop and build their
own startup idea.
Capstone Activity (Final Week)

investors and venture capital firms, with the

This is an introductory programme, and no prior experience is required. Learning Outcomes At the end of this track, students;- • Will select a tech-based problem and solution for their startup idea. • Will produce a prototype using no-code or low-code tools and software. • Experience what it is like being a member of a co-founding team, and role play one of the 3 archetypes of tech founders (hacker, hipster or hustler). • Perform validation with actual users and customers. • Produce an abridged pitch deck of their chosen startup idea. • Capstone Activity: Teams will pitch their startup to a panel of angel investors and venture capital firms, with the intention of raising their first round of angel investment. VIRTUAL EDITION Innovation Track (8 Weeks) How do we select a real-world problem or issue to work on? How do we then observe those social issues? In this track, students will enter as individuals, and they will be assigned to a client/host company to work on a real-life business problem. This track is designed for undergraduates who are interested in innovation consulting, and/or would like to explore a career as an early employee of a tech company. This is an introductory programme, and no prior experience is required. Learning Outcomes At the end of this track, students;- • Will be assigned an innovation brief from a client/host company that has a real- world business case that requires solving. • Will engage and manage stakeholders, including senior management team members from the client/host company, as well as interact with their users and customers. • Experience what it is like being a member of an innovation consulting team, and play the role of an innovation analyst or junior associate consultant. • Produce an abridged client deck covering recommendations, next steps and other deliverables provided in the client brief. • Capstone Activity: Teams are to pitch their market research findings and recommendations to their client/host company.
