Friday 23rd July Official arrival and unloading of containers / arrival of trailers at Sopromar for
teams who have not yet participated in the GC32 Lagos Cup 1. New arrivals
on alternative dates can be arranged with the GC32 Class and Sopromar.
Saturday 24th and Preparation of boats and measurement ashore if necessary.
Sunday 25th
Monday 26th and 09.00 – 18.00 Craning, measurement, sail declarations, crew registration and
Tuesday 27th and weighing at the Race Office at the marina building Gil Eanes near the
Honour Pontoon (Pontoon J). See also map in slide 3 of the Venue Info Pack.
Wednesday 28th 10.00 Main event skippers, safety and support boat drivers briefing at the
GC32 Outdoor Lounge in the the Marina de Lagos near the Honour Pontoon.
13.00 Official practice races.
18.30 Opening Aperitif at GC32 Outdoor Lounge.
Thursday 29th 10.00 Skippers briefing at GC32 Outdoor Lounge.
First warning signal and schedule to be confirmed.
After Racing Happy Hour at GC32 Outdoor Lounge.
Friday 30th Skippers briefing at GC32 Outdoor Lounge and racing schedule to be

Sunday 1st August Skippers briefing at GC32 Outdoor Lounge and racing schedule to be
announced. Approx. 17.00 prize giving at the GC32 Outdoor Lounge at the
Marina. Subsequently craning of boats.
Monday 2nd Packing up / storing of boats at the Sopromar boatyard.
Tuesday 3rd Loading and departure of containers (bump out).

GC32 RT 2021 74. TRAVEL AND ARRIVAL
Arrival by airplane / car
Closest airports are Faro (a bit less than one hour) or Lisbon (ca. three hours with by car).

Please note that the GC32 Lagos Cup is part of the international professional competitions
listed in Annex IV of the official document of the Portuguese government. Passengers
traveling exclusively to participate at the GC32 Lagos Cup do not have to quarantine.

Accommodation information
We recommend the Marina Club Lagos Resort in the Marina of Lagos. This the official
hotel of the event and offers special rates for teams. For more information see the

Arrivals and Technical Area Access
Official arrival date is the 23rd of July (free craning for containers provided). Earlier
arrivals can be arranged with the GC32 Class and Sopromar. If you wish to arrive on a
different date, please coordinate with the GC32 Class and Hugo Henriques from
Sopromar. This does not apply for team already on site after GC32 Lagos Cup 1.

Race, Media and Marina Main Offices
The Race Office will be located in the marina building Gil Eanes near the Honour
Pontoon (Pontoon J). The Media Office will be located in the Marina Club Resort main
building next to the reception. The Marina Main Office is located at the entrance of the
marina next to the pedestrian bridge crossing the channel to the sea (see map in slide
3 of the Venue Info Pack).
GC32 RT 2021 117. TECHNICAL AREA AT SOPROMAR
Craning, measurement and storage at Sopromar
Craning is provided by the Organising Authority during the official craning schedules (see
ENoR). Craning at arrival has been organised individually with the teams. If you wish to
change the current arrangements, please contact Class Management or Hugo at Sopromar.
The cost of unloading (and loading) of the container, the launch of the GC32 (including
stepping the mast) as well as haul out after the regatta are covered by the OA. Any
additional craning needed before Tuesday 27th 18:00 has to be arranged with Sopromar
and is at the cost of the teams. Fee per crane movement € 150 (boat and mast). Any
craning after Tuesday 29th 18:00 is not permitted without permission of the OA (ENoR 14).
The craning out sequence of boats after the last race on Sunday will be arranged according
to container placement and logistics required. The Organising Authority will provide a
craning list accordingly. Craning will start straight after the last regatta. There will be no
craning during the period of the prize giving.
Departure day for boat and containers is the Tuesday 3rd of August 2021.
GC32 RT 2021 128. FURTHER LOCATION INFORMATION
Parking at Marina de Lagos and at Sopromar
Parking is available in front of the Marina Club Hotel Lagos and the Sopromar boatyard.
Berthing at Marina de Lagos
The Organising Authority will provide an assigned berth for each boat at Marina de Lagos.
Mooring will be available from Monday 26th July. Please see the Marina front desk for the
GC32 mooring plan. If you need a mooring earlier contact the GC32 Class Managment.
Support boats / training before the regatta
Please read the special instructions in the Notice of Race (NoR) point 6. and the Event
Notice of Race (ENoR) point 13. applying to all support boats in Lagos.

Lazy Jacks Bar & Grill in the Marina of Lagos are happy to offer a 15% discount off the total
bill to the participating team of the GC32 Lagos Cup.
GC32 RT 2021 139. COVID REGULATIONS AND PROTOCOL
General event protocol
All competitors, coaches, guests and accompanying persons shall always comply with
the Covid 19 regulations as stipulated by the OA.
In addition to the national Portuguese Covid rules and regulations (see next slide no
13) the following applies:
• At registration, all competitors must present a negative covid test (PCR carried out
less then 72 hours before or Antigen test onsite at registration) or a valid
vaccination certificate. Antigen tests will be available for free on site at registration.
• All coaches, guests, press, staff and accompanying persons must as well register
with the OA during official registration time (Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th) or at
their time of arrival and provide the same negative Covid test results as the
competitors or a valid vaccinations certificate.
• Anybody joining the event later shall register at their arrival with the OA at the
Race Office and provide same proof as above.
Covid 19 testing at the Marina
A Covid 19 test center for Antigen and PCR tests has been set up in a container just
behind the main building of the Marina de Lagos. Everybody with the GC32 Lagos Cup
receives a 20% discount on tests.
GC32 RT 2021 149. COVID REGULATIONS AND PROTOCOL
The Portuguese government has been taking public health measures to protect the population as well as the
visitors. Latest update was made on the 12th of July. Measurers in force may be reviewed by the 25th of July.

Opening of the event
The event will be opened on Wednesday 28th of July after the practice races at
18.30 in the GC32 Outdoor Lounge in the Marina with an Opening Aperitif.
Lunch and lunch packs
Lunch and lunch packs can be booked / ordered directly at the reception of
the Marina Club Resort Lagos. Please make your bookings and arrangements

Official Regatta Dinner
Due to the situation with pandemic, we will not be able to organise a regatta
dinner at this event.

On Sunday 1st of August after racing at 17.00 the Prize Giving will be held at
GC32 Outdoor Lounge in the Marina.

GC32 RT 2021 1811. GC32 LOUNGE AND HOSPITALITY
GC32 Outdoor Lounge
The GC32 Outdoor Lounge will be located in the Marina next to the Honor
Pontoon (Pontoon J) and will serve Morning Coffee at the Skippers Briefing and
Happy Hour Drinks after racing. To access the GC32 Lounge you will need to show
the event bracelet. Eight bracelets per team are included in your entry. For
additional members, the team bracelets can be purchased for the price of € 80 for
the duration of the event.
Everybody accessing the GC32 Outdoor Lounge will have to register prior with the
OA at the Race Office and provide their personal data and a negative covid test
(PCR carried out less then 72 hours before or Antigen test onsite at registration) or
a valid vaccination certificate. Antigen tests will be available for free on site at
registration.

Our hospitality program for guests and sponsors will be organised by our local

GC32 On Board Guest Hospitality
Like last year and as noted in the GC32 Racing Tour Notice of Race we will run
our On Board Guest Hospitality program for guests and sponsors if the
prevailing conditions are suitable. Numbers of spots will be shared between
the teams (50%) and GC32 Class (50%). Stephanie Nadin from the GC32 Class
will oversee the program. Stephanie will contact you before the event with
more information and to check also on your requirements.
All guests will have to register prior with Stephanie Nadin and provide their
personal data and a negative covid test (PCR carried out less then 72 hours
before or Antigen test onsite at registration) or a valid vaccination certificate.

GC32 RT 2021 2112. PRESS INFORMATION
Event Photography
Sailing Energy will be the 2021 GC32 Racing Tour photographers and will be present in
Lagos from the 28th of July onwards. Photos will be available on a photoshelter
account for press and teams. Photos are rights free for editorial usage but must be
credited: ‘©Sailing Energy/ GC32 Lagos Cup 2 2021‘. Additional rights for the usage of
the photos can be arranged with the GC32 Class Management and Sailing Energy.
Event Video Production
Icarus Sports manages the video production and distribution for the event. VNR’s,
daily highlights, short social features and an event wrap up video as well as the 26
minutes TV show will be produced and distributed.
Opening and prize giving
The event will be opened on Wednesday 28th of July after the practice races at 18.30
