Student Code of Conduct Updated to Reflect Changes Related to Pandemic The district’s 2020-21 Student Code of Conduct has been updated to re ect revisions and additions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Speci cally, the handbook now includes guidance around how students are expected to behave to promote safety when health conditions permit in-person learning on the campuses, including maintaining social distancing procedures, handwashing, wearing masks and keeping mouth and nose covered while sneezing and/or coughing. Students could face disciplinary action for purposefully trying to cough or sneeze on another person, refusing to adhere to social distancing standards, and removing personal protective equipment like a mask with the goal of trying to harm or threaten another person with bodily uids.
Students who show up to school without a mask or refuse to wear one during the school day may also
face a dress code violation. The expectation is that all students come to school wearing a face
covering, just as they would adhere to dress code. The goal is to keep everyone in our school safe,
including students and staff.
To view the entire Code of Conduct, please click here. Parents without ability to download the Code of
Conduct may request one in print by emailing Thomas Graham, the director of Student Affairs at
tgraham@springisd.org.
More Parent Sessions added on Schoology and the Home Access
Center
We’ve added more virtual parents sessions on Schoology and the Home Access Center (HAC) - two
important tools that will help ensure student success.
Participants will learn more about Schoology, the district’s learning management system. All students
will be using Schoology this year to access their classes and their assignments. Come learn how to
navigate the site and experience how your students will be using this important tool.
In addition, we’ll show parents how to log into the mySpringISD portal to access HAC, where they will
be able to track their child’s grades, attendance and report cards.
We know how important parent support is to ensuring student achievement, so please join us so you’ll
be familiar with these important digital tools.
The sessions will be held on:
Monday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. (English)
https://zoom.us/s/93525312594
Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. (Spanish)

Remote Learning Schedule is NOT reflected in HAC
Parents, your students’ schedules are now available in the Home Access Center. With remote learning
starting on Monday, August 17, 2020 please be aware that the HAC schedules are for “on campus
learning” and will not fully align with the remote learning day. Please look for communication from
your child’s teacher with your child’s remote learning schedule.
If you do not receive communication from your child’s teacher when your student should log on for
their rst class, please check out the remote learning schedule on our school’s website.
When public health conditions allow for in-person learning, we will be following your child’s schedule on
HAC and our bell schedule for on-campus instruction for those families who have chosen that option.
Until then, please have your students “school and camera ready” at the time listed in our remote
learning schedule that is attached in this newsletter. We will be using this start time at least for theHarris County Announces Free COVID-19 Testing with Shorter
Wait Times and Faster Results
Harris County Public Health announced that Harris County’s two stationary COVID-19 test sites in
Pasadena and Cy Fair are getting a big boost from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS) and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (DSHS). The state and federal
government are providing thousands of additional test kits and lab capacity, for quicker test results, in
3 to 5 business days.
There is a new and separate website to register for Surge Testing: www.doineedacovid19test.com or
call 832-927-7575. To get tested at the surge sites, people must be 13 or older, register and select an
appointment time and keep their assigned voucher ID, which is required for testing. They also need to
keep the username and password they registered with because they will need that to get their test
results, in 3-5 days. Surge Sites are open Monday-Saturday and now have evening hours one day a
week at each site: Tuesdays in Cy Fair at Pridgeon Stadium from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursdays in
Pasadena at San Jacinto College Central Campus, also from 4 to 8 p.m.
