The natural beauty, architecture and elegance of the Chinese Garden of Friendship
at Darling Harbour can provide a unique backdrop for your special day.

Sheltered pavilions, graceful bridges, reflective pools and enchanting landscapes
create the perfect romantic setting in the heart of the city.

The Chinese Garden can be hired for your wedding day. Exchange your vows and
capture your photographs in a traditional pagoda-style pavilion or intimate courtyard.

Pavilions can be hired exclusively during the day between 10am and 5pm.

WEDDING CEREMONY

The lower levels of the Chinese Garden may be hired for a ceremony between
10am and 5pm. The Chinese Garden offers four different pavilions which
can comfortably accommodate up to 120 wedding guests.

Rates are current at the time of print. Future rate changes may take place without notice.
A deposit secures the current rate for 12 months. Full payment secures the current rate until the date
of the function (including if more than 12 month out).

Rate includes an hour rehearsal for a party of six (6), subject to availability. Additional people are
required to pay standard admission charges at $6 per person.
CELEBRATION PACKAGE

Celebration packages may be provided by the Chinese Garden Teahouse for your
wedding ceremony.

bottled still water per person plus bar nibbles.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Confirmation
An event is not considered confirmed until Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (the
Authority) is in receipt of a holding deposit of $110.

Payment schedule
Upon booking request approval, the Authority requires the holding deposit within 24
hours. Final payment is required fourteen (14) days prior to the date of the wedding
ceremony. If payment is
not received, the booking may be cancelled and the deposit withheld.

Cancellation by the client
All cancellations must be in writing.
Cancellations will be subject to the following:
• For notice of cancellation outside of six (6) months prior to the date of the event 50% of
  the deposit will be refunded to the client.
• For notice of cancellation within six (6) months prior to the date of the event, the client
  will forfeit the deposit.

Hours for hire
Venue hire for pavilions is for 2 hours only between 10am and 5pm. Last booking at 3pm.
The pavilions may be hired for additional hours.

Essential information for clients
• Permission from the Authority is required for proposed entertainment options, including
  music or decorative enhancements.
• Bridal car access to the main entrance is allowed for drop off only. All vehicles must
  be escorted by Darling Harbour rangers. At no time is any vehicle to be parked in front
  of the Chinese Garden. After the bridal party has alighted the driver must return to the
  roadway/public parking.
• There is no guest parking on site. Paid parking is available nearby.
• Colonnades and pathways must be minimally disrupted.

Prohibited
The following is prohibited in the Chinese Garden:
• The use of rice, rose petals and confetti
• Bringing food and beverages into the garden
• Walking on the garden beds
• Touching the water features and pond
• Bringing pets or any other animals into the garden
• The use of candles and other naked flames
• Volume above LAmax 70B(A) and LCmax 90dB(C) on Friday and Saturday
   and LAmax 65 dB(A) and LCmax 85dB(C) Sunday to Thursday.
• Decorations in all water features (ponds and waterfalls)
• Adjusting the lighting and water features of the garden
• Smoking
• Littering
• Dangerous goods
• Illegal substances.
