Student Achievements

Well done to Jess Swanston (10 Mitir) who
represented Uffculme School at the Devon Schools
Cross Country at Stover last weekend. Jess was 6th in
the Inter Girls category and will now represent Devon
                             in Bournemouth next month.

                       2020 GCSE Exam Dates

Students taking GCSEs this year should be available from the date of
their first exam up to, and including the 24th June 2020. This is in case
one of their exams has to be rearranged because of major regional or
                           national disruption.

The exam boards have set aside the 24th June as a contingency day,
in the event they have to make an essential change to the exam
timetable that cannot be accommodated earlier. However, a
postponed exam could be arranged for any day in the exam period,
which starts on Monday 11th May.

                  ‘Save Australia’ Fundraising Event

     On Wednesday 15th January,
students and staff at Uffculme School
  held a 'Save Australia!' fundraising
     event. Students and staff alike
brought in cash donations with the
hope of completely filling a map of
    Australia with coins and notes.
Thanks to the generosity of all
involved, this idea was a success and
every square inch of the map was
covered! The initial desire to hold this
 fundraising event was completely driven by Uffculme School students;
staff and parents alike were keen to get involved but would like to
highlight how proud they are of the students' passionate interest in
helping with this terrible disaster, and impressed by their
initiative in starting the process themselves. The total raised from the
event was £750 - this will be split equally between The Australian Red
Cross and the World Wildlife Fund to be used to support the people and
wildlife of those areas affected by the bushfires.

Uffculme School would like to thank all the students, staff and parents
for their support of this cause.
