TOURNAMENT & DOME PLAYING RULES
- NCAA rulebook will be in effect, with the following Slugger Dome-specific adjustments.
- When the ball comes in contact with roof in fair territory:
Within the infield it is an OUT.
Beyond the infield (ie…outfield) it is a FOUL BALL.
Goes off roof and/or netting and over fence it is a HOME RUN. (Field 1 -left field, Field 2- right field)
- NCAA run rule will be implemented: 8 runs after 5 innings.
- International Tiebreaker rules (last completed batted out from previous inning placed on second base) will be implemented after the seventh inning.
- No time limits.
- For safety purposes, no players are allowed in dugout openings.
- Home & Away are predetermined; Team listed second on the schedule page of this packet is home team.
SLUGGER SERIES COVID-19 PROTOCOL
- All participants must follow most recent NCAA COVID-19 Resocialization of Collegiate Sport: Developing Standards for Practice & Competition guidelines at minimum.
Prior to tournament, each institution must have on file with MMU Athletic Director Natalie Balleto a completed “COVID-19 Attestation for Competition” form.
This form, sent to ADs, confirms an institution’s attention to testing guidelines, symptom screning, etc., as mandated by the NCAA.
Masks are required while in the dome. See specific guidelines below for more information.
- Slugger Peoria will be assigning officials for this event and certifies all officials will be following NCAA COVID-19 testing and masking strategies for officials.

DOME GUIDELINES FOR TEAMS
- Face coverings must be always worn. Includes all coaches, umpires, and players in dugouts and/or off the field.
Only exception: Players are at their discretion while on the playing field.
- Teams (players/coaches) can enter the building promptly 90 mins before scheduled game time (no earlier).
- Dugouts have been extended for social distancing.
- Designated warm-up areas will be assigned prior to entry of facility.
- All Coaches must check in prior to start of first game.
- Team Meeting areas will be located in the volleyball area (sportcourts) of dome. Throwing or hitting is strictly prohibited in these areas.
- Each team must supply one game ball for each game played (a second ball will be provided by hosts). Teams will play with their own ball while on defense.
- No metal cleats.
- No seeds or nuts.
- No outside Food or Drink.
- All teams will receive two (2) cases of water at check in. Additional cases can be purchased for $5.
- Complex will provide team lunch options for purchase (order forms will be provided):
$10 - Chicken breast, pasta salad, chips & knuckleballs (donut holes)
$7 - Cold sandwich or wrap, pasta salad, chips & knuckleballs (donut holes)
- Lunch/meals may be consumed in designated team area within the dome, or accommodations may be made for Suite Fire Grille area.
Social distancing shall be maintained in both eating locations
DOME GUIDELINES FOR SPECTATORS
- All spectators MUST always wear masks and remain socially distanced. Failure to do so will result in expulsion from complex premises without refund.
- All attendees must perform self-check before leaving the house or hotel.
- Daily temperature checks of each person will be taken upon their first time entering the building.
- Each team is limited to 40 spectators ONLY. This will be monitored by Slugger Peoria staff. All games are streamed on SluggerPeoria.tv
- Fans will be allowed inside building 20 mins before scheduled game time.
- Spectators must BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS. All bleachers inside the dome have been removed; there is no seating provided for fans.
- Admission: $10 daily gate or $15 for two-day pass.
GAME DAY FEATURES
ATHLETIC TRAINING
- On-site Athletic Training services will be provided by MMU Head Athletic Trainer Mitch Leopold (LAT,ATC) of Ascension Health Care.
- Athletic Trainer will be made available 60 minutes prior to team’s first competition
- Athletic Trainer will be stationed on the east end of the dome, near the volleyball/team area.
- Services provided to participants can include (but is not limited to):
Taping or wrapping needs (supplies must provided by each team), Stretching, and/or First-aid as needed.
For additional or special training needs or considerations, please send a request/instructions in advance to mitchell.leopold@ascension.org.
- Trainer will remain on site and available for the entirety of the tournament series.
- Ice will be available and provided by Trainer and/or Slugger Peoria where requested.
