General Information

Uniforms/T-Shirts
Anyone wishing to purchase a uniform or Tiger Den t-shirt may do so from the office.
Students may wear the t-shirt with the uniform pants and belt in the warmer months.
However, full uniform must be worn for testing and belt ceremonies.

Sparring Classes/Equipment Purchase
White belt students do not do sparring. Once students have earned their yellow belts they
may attend sparring classes. Sparring classes are held on week 3 and week 6 (this may vary
depending on the location). Students can also buy a pair of TKD shoes to enhance their
training. However they can start with bare feet at the beginning and buy shoes later.

Website/Email
We have a sign-up sheet in the waiting area for email addresses. If there is a schedule
change or important information that we need to inform students and parents about, we will
send out an email. We also post important information on the Tiger Den website – www.
tigerdenus.com. When you go to the website, click on each branch tab. Our email address
is: customerservice@gotigerden.com We also have a Facebook page – check your branch

Promotion Tests
We hold our color belt promotion tests every 2 months. If your child is ready to test, he/she
will be sent to the office to get a test application. The test fee is $45.00 if paid by the due
date. Certificates and new belts will be handed out at the Belt Ceremony. The office can give
you details about the Black and Semi-Black Test. Please check ‘Chapter6 Test & Stripe
system’ and ‘Chapter 9 Test requirement for Yellow Belt’.

Please note that when we have promotion tests and belt ceremonies,
regular classes are cancelled on those days.
If you have any questions regarding our programs and policies please feel free to stop by,
call, or e-mail each location.
MARTIAL ARTS MANNERS

The Do-Jhang(studio) is a place to learn and practice Martial Arts. While in the
Do-Jhang, students must follow basic rules. These rules are enforced to
maximize the effectiveness of the training environment and to place emphasis
on the development of the students’ mind and body.

- Students and instructors will face the flags and place their right hand on
their chest over their heart each time they enter or leave the classroom areas
to demonstrate respect to the instructors and fellow students.
- If students are late for class they should ask permission to enter class.
Permission must be obtained to leave the class for any reason.
- Students, siblings or friends should not play with the equipment or on the
mat without permission from the instructors.
- Students will turn away from their instructor and flags when adjusting their
uniform or belt.
- Students avoid unnecessary conversation in the class.
- A clean uniform is imperative in each class. This is a reflection of the
student’s pride. Students should help to keep the Do-Jhang neat and clean.
- No watches, rings or jewelry of any kind may be worn during class.
- Students who will have an extended absence, 7 or more days, from training
need to notify the office as a matter of courtesy.
- When waiting for class, students must sit quietly along the side of the mat.
- Students must conduct themselves in a PROPER MANNER at all times,
maintain a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and always set a GOOD EXAMPLE.

- Since our professional master instructors focus on instruction, once the first
class starts, Masters are not allowed to talk with parents. If you have any
questions or concerns, please contact office to address your matter.

It is expected that all students will be dedicated, disciplined and actively
involved in the promotion of Martial Arts and will preserve order in the Do-
Jhang. The techniques you learn are not to be applied outside the Do-Jhang
unless circumstances involving your safety or the safety of others are
                                    overriding!!!
How to tie belt

 1. Loop the belt around
 the body twice

 2. Take the end from
 the outside loop
 and tuck it underneath
 both loops
 3. Take the end from
the outside loop
And fold it across the front,
under the other end
 4. Take the end hanging
down and tuck it into
the loop made by
the folded end
Pull both ends tight
Belts must be tied neatly and the ends should hang
evenly. One side of the belt represents the mind and
the other the body. The belt represents the student’s
achievements. Students should never play with their
belt!!

Please remember to never wash the belt. If you do, the
Stripes will fall off!!

BELT STRIPE SYSTEM

Students of TIGERDEN show their progress in the color belt
they wear. Each color belt is a step toward the goal of Black
Belt. During our students’ regular class time they will be given a
stripe on their belt to show that they can properly perform that
technique.

There are 4 different color stripes. A student is eligible to take
a belt promotion test when his/her belt displays a full stripe of
green, blue and yellow each and they he/she has received a belt
promotion application form.

Belt promotion tests are conducted every other month (even
number months). In order to qualify for a reduced rate, a
student must fill out the test application form and submit
payment before the due date.

Outstanding Student – This is based on school
report card and attitude during TKD classes.

Memorization of Kicking Techniques and having
                    the TIGERDEN Spirit.

Memorization of One-Step Sparring and Board
                    Breaking Techniques.

Memorization of Form and displays a positive
                    attitude.

When students first start Tae Kwon Do they typically wear a white Tiger Den uniform (the exception
