WE GATHER
Prelude
Welcome

Thanksgiving for Baptism

L: Alleluia! Christ is risen.
C: Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!

L: Refreshed by the resurrection life we share in Christ,
let us give thanks for the gift of baptism.

We thank you, risen Christ,
For these waters where you make us new,
leading us from death to life, from tears to joy.
We bless you, risen Christ, that your Spirit comes to us
In the grace-filled waters of rebirth,
Like rains to our thirsting earth,
Like streams that revive our souls,
Like cups of cool water shared with strangers.

Breathe your peace on your church when we hide in fear.
Clothe us with your mercy and forgiveness.
Send us companions on our journey as we share your life.

Make us one, risen Christ.
Cleanse our hearts.
Shower us with life.

To you be given all praise,
With the Holy Spirit,
In the glory of God,
Now and forever.
Amen.
Song “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” ELW 836

Verse

Joyful, joyful we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of Love!
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before thee, praising thee, their sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness, drive the gloom of doubt away,
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day.

Verse

All thy works with joy surround thee, earth and heav’n reflect thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain, flow’ry meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird, and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in thee.

Verse

Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blest,
Wellspring of the joy of living, ocean-depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are thine;
Teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine!

Greeting
L: Alleluia! Christ is Risen.
C: Christ is risen indeed, Alleluia!
L: May the grace of our risen Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
C: And also with you.

Prayer of the Day
O God, you have prepared for those who love you joys beyond understanding.
Pour into our hearts such love for you that, loving you above all things, we may
obtain your promises, which exceed all we can desire; through Jesus Christ,
your Son and our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one
God, now and forever. Amen.

Song “When in Our Music God is Glorified” ELW 851
Verse 1
When in our music God is glorified,
and adoration leaves no room for pride,
it is as though the whole creation cried:
Alleluia!

Verse 2
How oft, in making music,
we have found a new dimension in the world of sound,
as worship moved us to a more profound
Alleluia!

Verse 3
So has the church, in liturgy and song,
In faith and move, through centuries of wrong,
Borne witness to the truth in ev’ry tongue:
Alleluia!

Verse 4
And did not Jesus sing a psalm that night
when utmost evil strove against the light?
Then let us sing, for whom he won the fight:
Alleluia!

Verse 5
Let ev’ry instrument be tuned for praise;
Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise;
And may God give us faith to sing always:
Alleluia!
Blessing of the Piano

Introduction

Special Music: “Pass it On” Lee & Betty Jacobson

P: Brothers and sisters in Christ: Today we seek God’s blessing as we gather
with thankfulness to set apart this piano to his glory. God has given us the gift of
music, and to him we sound our praise.

L & B: We present this piano to be consecrated to the glory of almighty God and
for service in this congregation: in loving memory of our granddaughter
Emmalee Jean.

Psalm 96:1-6
1
  O sing to the LORD a new song;
   sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2
  Sing to the LORD, bless his name;
   tell of his salvation from day to day.
3
  Declare his glory among the nations,
   his marvelous works among all the peoples.
4
  For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
   he is to be revered above all gods.
5
  For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
   but the LORD made the heavens.
6
  Honor and majesty are before him;
   strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

P: Sing with joy to God our strength;
C: and raise a loud shout to the God of Jacob.

P: Raise a song and sound the timbrel,
C: the merry harp, and the lyre.

P: Blessed are you, O Lord our God, king of the universe. You have made the
whole earth after your glory; all your creatures praise you. We lift our voices to
join the sounds and song of heaven and earth, of things seen and unseen, in
praise of your glory.

You alone do great wonders, and by your wisdom you made the heavens and
the earth. All living things give you praise. You have breathed your breath of
mercy into your children, to hear from them a joyful shout with their own song,
our Lord Jesus Christ, who is exalted by poets, musicians, and all your saints.
Your Spirit is breath of our music and song.
Be with us now and bless us as we dedicate this piano in loving memory of
Emmalee Jean Jacobson to your praise and glory. Enrich the lives of your
people through it, and grant us faith to hear your gracious purpose in it. By your
Holy Spirit, let this piano enliven the proclamation of your Word to the building
up of your Church, to the glory of your name, and to the good of all your people;
through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord through all ages of ages. Amen

O Lord, before whose throne trumpets sound, and saints and angels sing the
songs of Moses and the Lamb: Accept this piano for the worship of your
Church, that with the voice of music we may proclaim your praise and tell it
abroad; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
The Father, the Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth
Of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
The only Son of God,
Eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from light,
True God from true God,
Begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father;
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
He came down from heaven,
Was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and
the virgin Mary and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
In accordance with the scriptures;
He ascended into heaven
And is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
And his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
Who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
Who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
And the life of the world to come. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

Sharing of the Peace

Great Thanksgiving
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all
places give thanks and praise… …we praise your name and join their unending
hymn.

Song “Holy, Holy, Holy” ELW p144
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of pow’r and might,
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna, Hosanna. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Words of Institution

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name, thy kingdom come,
thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass
against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
Amen.

Holy Communion
SONG                         “Lamb of God”
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world;
Have mercy on us, have mercy on us.

Have mercy on us, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world:
Grant us peace, grant us peace.

grace. Amen.
Communion Prayer
Life-giving God, in the mystery of Christ’s death and resurrection you send light
to conquer darkness, water to give new life, and the bread of heaven to nourish
your people. Send us forth as witnesses to Jesus’ resurrection that we may
show your glory to all the world through the same Jesus Christ, our risen Lord.
Amen.
Blessing
May our glorious God grant you a spirit of wisdom to know and to love the rise
