Welcome to UCD from your SU! As a UCD student you are now a member

you do dive into this new year and get involved in as many aspects of
student life as you can. Don’t worry if you encounter any issues along the
way, we are here to support you.
UCD Students’ Union serves and supports all UCD students by providing
a voice and space for them to enhance their college experience. The SU
is student-led and continuously adapts to the evolving needs of the
student body.
Whenever you have a problem or question in UCD, UCDSU always has
you covered. From issues with your education to concerns about your
welfare, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, we have
democratically elected and trained officers to support and represent you.
If you ever have a question or an issue that needs solving, come into the
SU corridor located in the Old Student Centre or check out the virtual
reception on our website (www.ucdsu.ie) and we’ll sort you out.
We also organise nights out and gigs, fundraise for charities that benefit
the student body and represent you in academic and disciplinary hearings
and campaign on a national level. Every student can get involved by
becoming a class rep, an ents rep or by joining a campaigns crew. The
SU is yours to shape.

SU SHOPS
UCD Students’ Union runs three shops on Campus. One under the James Joyce Library,
another in the Sports Centre and one in the Engineering Building. It’s the perfect spot to grab
a cheap coffee or a meal deal for lunch or that pen or calculator you forgot to bring with you!
All profits in the SU shops go back to the SU to help fund more services and supports for
students.
RUN FOR CLASS REP
You can get your student life off to a quick start by running to be a class rep in the SU. It is
a great way to meet new people and to help your fellow classmates out with any issues they
may have, organise parties and class hoodies. You will have plenty of support and training.
It’s also great to have on your CV and lots of fun. Class Reps meet every two weeks during
term to discuss student issues and to shape the policy of the SU. Visit https://www.ucdsu.ie/
class-reps to learn more.
Every student is a member of UCD Students’ Union and is entitled to run for class rep and to
vote in your class’s elections. All elections will take place online. All students need to register
to vote in advance of the elections. Please register
today on vote.ucdsu.ie/registration - it only takes two minutes!
UNION COUNCIL
Union Council is the governing body of UCD Students’ Union. Members of Council include
Class Reps, Campaign Coordinators, Entertainments Forum, College Officers and Sabbati-
cal Officers. They meet every 2 weeks during the academic term.
Full-time and part-time Officers give reports to Council on what they have been working on
and other members can ask them questions about it. Council also formulates policy and
mandates, to steer the work of Union and it’s elected Officers. If there is anything you would
like your SU to work on or campaign for this year, why not run for class rep or ask your class
rep to bring a mandate to Council!GET SOCIAL WITH YOUR SU:
