Haltwhistle Film Project has worked across Cumbria and the
North-East for 20 years making films and animations with people
as young as 3 and as old as 104.
They run a mobile cinema, learning disability film company FilmAble
and have made films for many organisations including the NHS
and RSPB.
Come and hear some of their stories about pirates in biplanes,
flutes made from sticks, animations of sea monsters and find out
how they tackle important subjects.

Annie Weir: The Making of a Novelist

In 2009, Annie Weir decided to give writing 'a proper
go', and completed an MA in Creative Writing at the
University of Cumbria in 2011.
Annie's psychological thriller 'Judith Wants to be Your
Friend' featured in the 2017 Borderlines festival and
has sold over 5000 copies. It has been described as a
skilful blend of narrative voices and viewpoints.
In this talk Annie will share with you her innovative writing exercises,
and tell you about her journey from secret writer to successful author.
