Case Study - Volkswagen Group UK
Volkswagen AG (VW AG), as part of its TOGETHER 2025 Strategy and
Roadmap E, declared intent to electrify its entire model range, with at
VW Image
least 1 electrified model in each of the Group’s 300 or so model range
across all VW AG Brands by 2030.
VW AG will introduce 50 purely electric and 30 hybrid models by 2025,
meaning that almost 1 in 4 VW AG vehicles sold will be an alternatively
fuelled vehicle(AFV). For the UK this will mean that well over 100,000
VWG brand vehicles a year will be sold with an AFV drive train by
2030. The high paced market offerings of AFV vehicles will need to
be supported by an appropriate charging infrastructure in the VW UK
supply chain to support the offer to VWG customers and the VW Retail
Network. VW UK recognised the need for an EV charging system at its
national Pre Delivery Inspection centre and the three port terminals in
Sheerness, Grimsby and Tyne.

Case Study - BCA
British Car Auctions (BCA) provide remarketing services for 750,000
vehicles per year to customers including manufacturers, fleet opera-
tors and rental companies.
BCA has been an ElectrAssure customer for services including elec-
trical inspection, test, installation and lighting since 2013. Over the
past 3 years ElectrAssure has been helping BCA to get the charging
systems they need to service their EV customers effectively.
ElectrAssure conducted a full survey of the site, mindful of the vehi-
cles to be charged and the business processes at the BCA facilities
ElectrAssure recommended changing the location of the chargers
within the Corby site to avoid the need for the substation upgrade.

The first ABB Terra 53 charger

lease for your system, reducing the need for you to find the capital
for the right electric vehicle charging solution.
Leasing is quite simply the process of acquiring equipment via third-
party finance and paying for it in manageable monthly amounts
over a pre-agreed term.
It’s like a loan, only the loan is secured by the assets you have
acquired, which allows for a lower rate of interest.
Rentals are an operating expense and so are 100% tax deductible
Loan terms can be from 1-7 years and can be cheaper than
outright purchase, after tax relief is applied.
