Mountpleasant Lodge is a purpose-built, two-storey home,
constructed around an internal courtyard garden. It features 81 en-suite bedrooms,
shared dining and recreational areas, quiet sitting rooms, The ‘Residents’ Bar’ area, a ‘Mens Shed’ and family rooms,
a Snoezelen multi-sensory room, hydrotherapy bathroom, smoking room and hair salon.
The ground floor is specially designed to meet the needs of residents living with dementia.

We offer convalescent care to residents who are discharged from hospital following surgery
or medical episodes and require some extra medical, nursing and rehabilitative care before going home.
We are approved for a number of private healthcare providers.

Respite care
When it comes to respite care, it’s good to know that the person being cared for is in safe hands.

on a private basis or in conjunction with the HSE.

Funding
When it comes to the Fair Deal Scheme, our Social Worker Mary Courtney is the person to speak with.
She’s an expert in helping residents and families understand the Fair Deal Scheme, and she provides assistance to
residents and families with Fair Deal applications.
Under the Fair Deal Scheme, you make a contribution towards the cost of your care and the State pays the balance.
The scheme does not apply to convalescent or respite care in a nursing home. However, depending on your healthcare provider
and your level of cover, your insurer may cover the cost of these. Contact your healthcare provider for details.
Applicants for residency in a FirstCare home must have their Fair Deal application approved before they can avail of State Fair Deal funding.
