NRCHA Stallions Stakes Crowns First Champions – March 31, 2021

IM SO STUNNING & ERIN TAORMINO TAKE TWO REIN
SPECTACULAR
                                                          The first horse and rider duo to earn a
                                                          2021 NRCHA Stallion Stakes champion
                                                          trophy were Im So Stunning (Metallic Cat
                                                          x Absolutely Stunning x Smart Little Lena)
                                                          and Erin Taormino in the Open Two Rein
                                                          Spectacular. With a 662 composite
                                                          (H:221/R:218/C:223), the 2015 roan
                                                          gelding and Erin Taormino topped the 33-
                                                          horse Spectacular field by a point and a
                                                          half.

                                                          Taormino has trained the roan since late
                                                          in his 2-year-old year. Prior to this win, the
                                                          horse had earned $28,466.80 in reined
                                                          cow horse competition.

                                                          "We've made finals and he's never won
                                                          anything big but has been a steady
                                                          horse," Taormino said. "We gelded him
                                                          this winter and he really loves the gelding
life."

When she learned of the win, Taormino was all smiles.

"He's a really fun horse to train," she said. "The two rein class, the competition in it is incredible.
The horses are amazing and the riders are amazing. To win [this class] in such a fabulous group
is just an honor."

Owner Jennifer Ostenson earned $5,520.00 for the win. In the Open Two Rein, held concurrently
with the Spectacular, the duo were second which earned another check for $2,144.00. In
addition, the champion received a C.R. Morrison NRCHA trophy, a one-ear headstall with
rawhide and silver buckles from Dennis Moreland Tack, a Platinum Performance gift certificate,
and an UltraCruz prize pack from Santa Cruz Animal Health. For reserve in the Open Two Rein
class, they won a pair of Classic Fit Boots from the NRCHA.

Reserve Champion Clayton Edsall and Stylish In Socks (Metallic Cat x Stylish In Stockings x
Peptoboonsmal), owned by Beverly Servi, scored a composite 660.5 (H:223/R:215/C:222.5). For
reserve, the pair earned $4,320.00 and prizes that include an UltraCruz prize pack, a saltwater
spa session from Oklahoma Equine Hospital and a pair of DyNo Turn Fleece Bell Boots from
NRCHA.

    MATT KOCH & SMART LADIES SPARKLE TOP TWO REIN
    CLASS

At the 2021 NRCHA Stallion Stakes Matt
                                          Koch and Smart Ladies Sparkle (WR This
                                          Cats Smart x Shiners Diamond Lady x
                                          Shining Spark) earned the Open Two Rein
                                          class win with a composite 441. Tying for the
                                          composite, the big 224 cow work score
                                          pushed the 2015 mare to the win; in the rein
                                          work, the duo scored a 217.

                                          Prior to the Stallion Stakes, the mare had
                                          earned $28,259.26 in NRCHA. Owner Myra
                                          Koch pocketed $2,680.00 for the class win.
                                          Along with the check came C.R. Morrison
                                          NRCHA trophy, a Platinum Performance gift
                                          certificate and a Classic Equine embroidered
                                          sheet.

In reserve was Im So Stunning and Erin Taormino. The pair’s 218 in the rein and 223 in
the cow was rewarded owner Jennifer Ostenson with $2,144.00 and Classic Fit Boots from
the NRCHA.

MR COMIN IN HOT & LUKE JONES EARN OPEN BRIDLE WIN

The popular Open Bridle class completed tonight after more than 60 competitors took a
turn around the Main Arena at the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center. Coming out
above the group was Allerton, Iowa, professional Luke Jones piloting Kit & Charlie
Moncrief’s 2015 gelding Mr Comin In Hot (Mr Playingstylish x Lil Sally Cat x High
Brow Cat) with a composite 295.5 (R:145.5/C:150). The gelding earned $2,688.00 for the
win, and a C.R. Morrison NRCHA trophy, Classic Equine sponsored Classic Equine
embroidered sheet and a gift certificate from Platinum Performance for product.

                                               Mr Comin In Hot and Jones previously
                                               competed in the 2021 DT Horses and
                                               Hashtags’ World’s Greatest Horseman,
                                               finishing eighth. The horse has
                                               earned $37,512.50 in NRCHA
                                               competition, prior to this event.

                                               Taking second place in the Open Bridle
                                               class was Sarah Lyn Kennedy
                                               aboard 2013 gelding Ill Bet Cha (Bet
                                               Hesa Cat x Kiss Me A Little x Sart
                                               Little Pepinic), owned by Riley Valin.
                                               The duo rode to a 294. The score topped
                                               the Intermediate Open Bridle class to
                                               earn $570.00, and was second in the
                                               Open Bridle for another $2,112.00. In the
                                               Open Bridle, reserve was also awarded a
                                               set of Classic Fit Boots from the
                                               NRCHA.

As the Intermediate Open winner, Kennedy and Valin received a one-ear headstall with
rawhide and silver buckles from Dennis Moreland Tack and a $150 Farnam gift certificate.
Prior to this event, Ill Bet Cha had earned $15,240.50 in NRCHA. Kennedy, from Auburn,
California, is an NRCHA judge and has earned more than $34,000 in the NRCHA.

Second place in the Intermediate Open Bridle was Wyatt Fisher aboard Prize Winning
Gal (Smokums Prize x Ill Be A Winning Gal x Ill Be Smart), owned by Jayson and Teresa
Fisher. The duo rode to a 291.5 (R:144.5/C:147) to earn $475.00. They were also in a
three-way tie for fourth place in the Open Bridle, earning an additional $896.00. For their
second place in the Intermediate Open, Fisher won a pair of Classic Equine Boots from
the NRCHA.

Lisa Kittel and her 2013 mare Lucky Lil Lena Dr (Autumnator x Smoky Lucky Lena
Dr x Mr Smoky Lena) won the Limited Open Bridle class. She also a C.R. Morrison
NRCHA trophy, a Classic Equine sponsored embroidered sheet and a gift certificate from
Platinum Performance for product. Kittel, of Adrian, Oregon, has approximately $5,300 in
NRCHA earnings, prior to this event, but adds $1,725.00 here in Las Vegas.

Moms Attractive CD (Moms Stilish Cat x Attractive Wipeout x CD Olena) and owner-rider
Alanna Starkovich earned second place. The 2016 gelding scored a 286 to earn $1,380.00
and a pair of Classic Fit Boots from the NRCHA.
