Lobbying and Advocacy Priorities

As we continue to respond to Government announcements and updates on Covid-19, our priorities are to ensure a
safe and successful Christmas trading period.

    Our key asks include:

➢ Clarity on the Government’s road to recovery and what the restrictions mean for central London
    ➢ Removal of the curfew
➢ Extended trading hours on Sundays
➢ Change the formula for the discretionary grant
➢ Introduce incentives to help bring visitors back to the West End
➢ Continued sectoral support for businesses
➢ Maintain funding to market London domestically and internationally, as a world-class global destination
We are also hosting sector specific roundtable discussions to better understand members needs and how best to support our members.

Supporting the Homeless this Winter

We remain committed to tackling Homelessness as a key priority issue and are continuing to work
closely with Westminster City Council (WCC) and our outreach Charity partner, The Connection at St
Martin's in the Field throughout this Winter period. Our commitments include:

➢ Enrolling our front-line services (including Security, Cleaning & City Inspector teams) to help report vulnerable
  people onto StreetLink

➢ Daily contact with The Connection - working closely with them to help thousands of people move off the streets
  and into temporary accommodation.

➢ Supporting local Christmas Campaigns and volunteering opportunitiesincluding The Connection's 'A First
  Christmas At Home' campaign

➢ Working with WCC to help identify the vulnerable & support them with their Serious Weather Emergency
Protocol (SWEP) during inclement weather periods.

➢ Continuing to support WCC's Hidden Network Campaign to help people off the streets

➢ Working with the GLA & TAP London in the Mayor of London's 2020 Winter Homelessness campaign.

We will continue to gather the views of our members and partners to seek & lobby on the key issues
affecting homelessness and rough sleeping. For more information please contact Robin Hibbert
