Routes to a degree Progression Routes
Our “Progression Route” structure means Level 9 / 10 Masters Degree /
that you can come into GMIT to study for a PhD Degree
Higher Certificate (Level 6). Then you can
Level 8 Honours Bachelor Degree +1 (4 years total)
progress to a Degree (Level 7), and/or an
Honours Degree (Level 8).
Level 7 Bachelor Degree +1 (3 years total)
So, use your CAO form to the full and select
courses at both Level 6/7 and Level 8. Level 6 Higher Certificate 2 years total

Top Tips for filling out your CAO form
With so many courses to choose from, it can be an overwhelming time for students and parents.
THINK PREFERENCE, NOT POINTS: DO WHAT YOU LOVE: Think
List your courses in order of about the subjects you enjoy, and
preference, not based on how many are good at – this is a good place
