Team Competition

All riders are to be current full members of British Dressage or Dressage Ireland. All
horses/ponies must have full British Dressage or Dressage Ireland current registration
and must be vaccinated under the current British Dressage rules.

Rosettes will be awarded to top 10 teams, prizes in kind will be awarded to 1st – 3rd
teams and sashes to winning team. The Cool Technic Perpetual Trophy will also be
presented to the winning team.

BD Youth Home International Eligibility Table

Combinations may be selected to compete in the FEI individual championship,
however they cannot compete in the team competition at more than two levels
below their selected FEI Levels (as shown in table).

Individual Competition
Individual winners will be awarded at each of the below levels:

The individual competition at Novice to Medium levels will be determined from the
combined percentages from the team classes over the 2 days.

The individual FEI competition at each level will be determined from the combined
results from the FEI classes over the 2 days.

Rosettes will be awarded for the 1st to 10th place for individuals in each
Championship. Sashes will be awarded to the winners and prizes in kind from 1st to
3rd place.

Number of entries
Allocation of team numbers per Region / Nation are as follows: Wales, Scotland and
Ireland x 4 teams (16 riders), England N&E, N&W, S&E, S&W x 6 teams (24 riders);
regions may also select three individual riders at each of the FEI levels (children on
horses, pony, junior, young rider).

Additional teams and FEI combinations may be considered once initial nominations
are known.
General Entry Information
Entries must be submitted by the DO or BD Youth Rep.

Riders entries and all payments will be made via each Region’s DO on line via
Bookwhen. Paper entries will not be accepted. The DO will then make all team
entries. Please refer to the first page for Organiser details.

All training & competition results must be achieved by midnight on 21 June 2021.
Applications must be submitted via Bookwhen to your DO by no later than 21 June
2021

There will be no refunds given on withdrawals, stabling, hook-up’s or class entries
after close of entries on 19 July 2021.

Substitutions may be made but will be arranged directly via your DO, under these
circumstances financial reimbursement may be discussed but cannot be guaranteed
in full or part.

Passports:
Valid passports are required for all horses and ponies with a full vaccination record in
compliance with rule 10 listed on page 22 of the current BD Members Handbook.

Photocopies of the front page of the passport, the ID Page and Vaccination Record
must be sent to the DO/BD Youth Rep for each combination to be submitted at the
close of entries. Passports must be presented on arrival at the show ground and
handed to your BD representative.

It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that passport documentation is brought to the
show, up to date and that it is compliant with the BD Rules. Any horse/pony with a
non –compliant passport or vaccination will not be allowed to compete.

Stallions:
There are limited stallion boxes available, they will be provided if pre-ordered and
spaces permits. Any special requests must be made with your entry via the DO.

Horse Inspection (Trot Up):
The horse inspection for all competitors will take place on Monday 9th August 2021 at
approximately 2pm. Riders are to be dressed in team clothing with sensible footwear
and wear an appropriate riding hat and gloves. Snaffle bridles only. With prior
agreement the horse/pony may be presented by a nominated representative.

There will be a best turned out Individual Combination Award for the Horse
Inspection.

Horse passports must be handed to your Regional Representative by 10.30 am on
Monday 9th August 2021. Please note that the Secretary will only deal with Chefs
d’Equipe and if your Chef is going to be late, then a nominated person must be
appointed and notified to the Secretary in advance. Official information will only be
given to Chef d’Equipe or their nominated representative.

There will be a Chef d’Equipe meeting at approximately 12 noon (tbc) on Monday 9th
August 2021. Only 2 representatives from each region to attend please.

Arena Familiarisation
Each region will be allocated a time slot of approximately 10 – 15 minutes on Monday
afternoon to exercise horses / ponies within the competition arenas. Riders will be
permitted to ride inside the arenas. This will be timetabled and commence
approximately 30 minutes after each region has completed their trot up. Full details
will be confirmed on publication of the trot up timetable.

Sunday 8th August 2021
14:00 Stables open *Please contact the Secretary and advise your DO if you wish to arrive earlier
than Sunday at 14:00 to ensure that your early arrival can be accommodated.
Outdoor arena available for schooling once Regional Championship classes have
finished.

Monday 9th August 2021
Warm up classes (morning)
Passports to be handed in no later 10:30 to Regional Representative
Chef d’Equipe Meeting approximately 12 noon
Trot Up from 14:00 in published order
Arena Familiarisation to run along side Trot Up according to published timetable
Opening Ceremony followed by Welcome Reception with the Caldicot Male Voice
Choir.

First round of Youth Home International Competition
Presentation of Olympic Past, Present and Future ‘Skits’

Wednesday 11th August 2021
Second round of Youth Home International Competition
Prize Giving / Closing Ceremony

General Rules of the show

Please refer to rules 169 and 173 of the BD Members Handbook for specific rules for
team competitions.

All classes, will be run under BD Rules including the members code of conduct.

Whips and Commanders may be used in the warm-up classes but are not permitted in
any Home International or FEI Classes.

During the show, only the competitor may school the horse from the saddle, horses
may not be schooled from the ground by any person.
Teams will be selected in accordance with the Regional Team Selection Policy.
Riders may not have competed at the Senior Inter Regionals Championship or Senior
Home International in the same year.

Warm up tests do not count towards individual or team rankings or carry any BD
Grading Points.

This is a friendly international and teams will, for the duration of the show, in line with
their governing body, be allowed to wear the appropriate pocket badge and numnah
badge. All badges must be removed after the competition.

Lorry Park
Parking will be in regions where possible. Hook ups are limited and must be booked
with your entry. Lorries requiring a hook up may not be parked with other members
of their team, but if possible we will try to accommodate this. Please ensure you park
in double lines facing downhill and respect the requests of the parking steward.

Stables
On site stabling is provided according to the costings below. It is compulsory once
trotted up that all competitors stable on site.

The stabling provided will come with a ‘working shavings bed’. They will not be
mucked out and cleaned to the floor. We require all competitors to remove all wet
shavings and droppings on departure, leaving the stable as found on arrival. Clean
shavings may be left. No Straw or Paper Bedding is permitted in the stables.

Stable for 2 nights:                           £65.00 for duration
Stable for 3 nights:                           £80.00 for duration
Additional night stabling:                     £20.00 per night
Electric Hook Up:                              £70.00 for duration
                                               Please bring a long cable for hook up
Shavings per bale:                             £10 per bale
Small Bales of Haylage:                        £10 per bale

All bedding and haylage needs to be pre-ordered when you enter. You will be given a
ticket on arrival to give to the stable manager in order to collect any items pre-
booked.

Please note that the stables will not open before 14:00 on Sunday 8th August 2021. All
stables must be vacated by Wednesday 11th August 2021 at 19:00 unless additional
nights stabling has been pre-booked.

Camping & On-Site Accommodation

There is limited on site accommodation available please see www.cricklands.com for
details.

Camping is permitted in the lorry field, however, you must camp where instructed
and not obstruct vehicle access.
Warm Up Arena
The Arenas will be available for general exercise. A timetable will be published. You
may only exercise within the permitted times when an official or steward is in
attendance – most likely half an hour in the morning before the competition
commences.

When the competition is taking place, only horses competing may use the warm up
arenas. Hand grazing, in bridles wearing a bridle number is allowed.

No horses are permitted in the lorry field at any time except for loading and unloading
from lorries. All other activities may only be performed in the stable area.

Entertainment

The theme for 2021 will be Past, Present and Future Olympic Games. Each region will
be required to perform a 5 minute ‘skit’ on Tuesday evening approximately 1 hour
after the last horse competes.

Monday Evening – Opening Ceremony followed by Welcome Reception
Tuesday Evening – Food will be available to pre-purchase and the Pavillion will be
open for all to use.
Wednesday Evening – Closing Ceremony and Prize Giving

Prize Giving
The prize giving will take place approximately 1 hour after the last test has finished on
Wednesday 11th August 2021. All competitors must be in full riding attire. The
presentation will be dismounted. Failure to attend the prize giving may result in
prizes being passed down the line. Passports will be returned at Prize Giving and not
before.

Live Scoring will be available throughout the event. Details will be given to all
competitors.

First Aid / Vet / Farrier
On site first aid cover will be provided for the duration of the competition. Although
not on site a Vet and Farrier will be on call - please however ensure that your horse /
pony is well shod. Contact details will be listed at the score boards.

Photographer
There will be an official photographer on site and photographs will be taken
during the event. If for any reason you do not want your child’s photograph to
appear in any publications or web site material please send a note in with your
entry form. Please also ensure that you have completed a formal Photograph
consent form and given this to your DO or BD Youth rep.
Toilets and Shower Facilities
  There is 24 hour access to toilet and shower facilities which are located near the
  stables. The opening of these facilities will be subject to Covid regulations.

  Dogs:
  Are permitted but must be kept on leads at all times and cleaned up after.

  Please note that all timings listed in the schedule are provisional and may be subject to
  change.

Team Championship

• Teams will be selected and allocated in accordance with the Regional Team Selection
  Policy 2021.
• All scoring for team and individual competitions will be based on percentages as per
  rule 173 on page 160 of the BD Hand Book.
• Each team of 4 riders must comprise of the following levels: Novice, Elementary,
  Medium. Only two riders in the same team may ride at the same level. This
  competition is open to Bronze, Silver and Gold Combinations.
• Each team of 4 will have a drop score on each day. The rider with the lowest
  percentage will be deleted from the team average.
• Teams of 3 riders are permitted but must consist of 3 riders from different levels. All 3
  scores will count. If a team drops to two members, they may still ride in the
  competition for individual placings. However the competition is a team competition
  and therefore will not start with any individual riders.
• Individual Championships will also be awarded at each level:
          Novice
          Elementary
          Medium
          FEI Pony
          FEI Children on Horses
          FEI Junior
          FEI Young Rider

  The individual championships will be determined from the individual results in the
  team classes Rosettes 1st – 10th, prizes 1st – 3rd, in accordance with BD starter number
  rulings.
