Event Details
Toronto Food Truck Festival
A great opportunity to sample foods from over 50
different food trucks! Daily free music concerts and
eating challenges! This is an annual festival with funds
raised going to Sick Kids Hospital. A fun event for kids
too with a Children’s Village. Can you say ‘Beaver Tails’?
How about Poutine? So many choices!
There are also non-food vendors for those more
interested in hand-made products (eg. Soaps). So,
something for everyone.
When: August 3 (5-10pm), Aug 4-6 starts at 12noon

Scarborough Ribfest
Every year the Rotary Club of Scarborough puts on a
HUGE Ribfest with donations going towards programs
that benefit the community. There will be 10 ‘Ribbers’
from Canada and the United States, as well as 20 other
food vendors. Also, 11 live bands. And for those of you
who like to sing, there is Karaoke daily at 11am!
When: August 3-6, 11am-11pm except Aug 6 until 8pm
Where: Thompson Memorial Park, Lawrence/Brimley

Event Details
In its 24th season, Dusk Dances returns to Withrow Park for
band and workshops, plus live dance performances
following the ‘lesson’.
Bring your own chairs and blankets and enjoy the music and
watch the performers. Better yet, get there early and take a
lesson yourself. All are welcome!

Horsecapades at the CNE
Event Details
Yee Haw! Everyone loves to see and pet the horses, and
what better way to do this than to visit Horsecapades
before CNE starts? For the two weeks prior to the CNE,
HorseCapades offers the young and young at heart an
opportunity to get up close and personal with these
beauties. Free pony rides for the kids! Giddy Up!

Event Details
Bring a friend and try out the newest dance craze – NIA. A
blend of martial arts, dance, healing arts and spiritual self-
healing arts will get you moving and energized. Bring

Shakespeare in the Park
Event Details
Enjoy a warm night by spending it at an outdoor theatre!
Two plays: Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s
Dream are being offered on various dates. Open seating,
but you can reserve a seat for a $25 donation.

The Downtown BIA is hosting its 6th Play the Parks
events. If music and/or dancing are your thing, this is
the place to be! Enjoy some shopping at the Eaton
Centre and then join in the fun at the park for music and

Event Details
Gibson House in North York offers a glimpse back in
time and is a wonderful location for interactive
programs for the whole family. The current exhibit of
Pennies and Purses is open daily – great for those little
ones who like purses and for those who enjoy historical
fashion.

Event Details
Now that the nights are cooling off, it’s the perfect

Textile Museum – ‘Thread Journeys’
Event Details
The Textile Museum offers a glimpse in to the history of textiles
dating back 2000 years! In addition to this, there are summer
drop-in activities where you can learn how to spin, weave and
quilt. If Museums are not your thing, but the topic of textiles
interests you, then the Textile Museum now started an on-line
site for Torontonians to find out more about our multicultural
city and the threads that bind us.

Event Details
For those of you who like the outdoors, and who want to learn

Event Details
Every year, we all know the end of the summer is upon us
when the CNE opens. There is so much more to do there than
the rides and tasting really weird food. Did you know there are
daily Heritage Walking tours and Ghost Walks? Check out the
robots and inventions in the Innovation Garage. Enjoy the East
Coast Kitchen Party with food, music and a bit of
Newfoundland screech. And, of course, the Superdogs! Can’t
help but smile when you see these dogs…
