Eligibility: Athletes residing in Ontario must be registered and their clubs affiliated for 2021 with
Athletics Ontario by the Entry Deadline. Athletes registered with Athletics Ontario as
“Unattached” or “Disassociated” do not require a club affiliation.
Athletes residing in Ontario but representing a club from outside the province must be
registered with their association and must be entered by their respective clubs. Athletes
residing outside of Ontario must be registered for 2021 with their provincial or state
associations.
There will be three scenarios for these championships based on the municipality or
provincial restrictions that are in place leading up to the championship. Please review
the three scenarios below.
No Gathering Limit
If there is no limit on the number of participants at an organized event, the standard
rules for eligibility will be used for this championship. All registrants must be members
of their provincial or state governing body. Athletes from outside of Canada will need to
contact Randolph Fajardo for entry into the championship.
100 Persons Gathering Limit
All Ontario athletes that are part of the U20 category, born in 2002 or 2003 are eligible
to compete and do not have to achieve an entry standard. Any athletes, born in 2004 or
after must achieved entry standards by the entry deadline, 11:59pm, Sunday, July 18,
2021, in order compete at the Ontario U20 Championships. See the Technical Details
section for more information on entry standards. Athletes from other provinces or
countries must achieve entry standards to participate at the Ontario U20
Championships.
25 Persons Gathering Limit
Only registered Ontario U20 aged athletes, born in 2002 or 2003 are eligible to compete
at this championship and do not have to achieve an entry standard. No younger
divisions or out of province/country athletes will be allowed to compete at these
championships.

All payments are made via Trackie with on-line payment.
Late Entries: Entries will be accepted after the entry deadline of Tuesday, July 20 11:59pm EST but
fees will be increased as stated above in the “Fees” section. The deadline for late entries
will be Thursday July 22 at 10:00am EST. To be eligible for post entry, athletes must
have been registered with the provincial branch by the time of entry. See “Eligibility” on
page 3. Entries received after this deadline will be accepted at the discretion of Athletics
Ontario and only if it does not cause a disruption to the conduct of the meet.
Confirmation: As Entries are processed, performance lists will be made available online at the Athletics
Ontario website at https://athleticsontario.ca/event/2021-ontario-u20-tf-champs/.

Waiver: Every participant is required to sign the waiver form attached. For athletes under the
age of 18, a parent or guardian’s signature must appear on the waiver. The waiver form
must be submitted at the registration desk on the day of the competition. Please use

Schedule: The schedule is subject to minor adjustments. Please refer to the championship
webpage for all up-to-date information: https://athleticsontario.ca/event/2021-ontario-
u20-tf-champs/. A final schedule will be posted by July 21 at 4:00pm EST.
Warm-Up: Athletes will have to start their initial warm-up outside the facility. The indoor facility
will not be available to athletes during the championship.
Cool Down: Athletes will be asked to leave the facility upon the completion of their event. Cool
down routines must occur outside the facility to make room for the next group of
competing athletes.
Check-In Procedure: The traditional Athletics Ontario check-in procedure will not be used at this
championship. A call room will be setup outside the field of play where athletes will
need to report to prior to entering the facility for their warm-up routine. A schedule for
entry into the facility will be distributed to athletes and coaches.
Implements: Athlete must bring their own implement. Implements may be shared between athletes
from the same club. Absolutely no sharing of implements between athletes of different
clubs.
Awards: Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the first three finishers from Ontario
in each championship event.
Non-Ontario athletes will be eligible for medals. These non-Ontario athletes will not
offset medal placements for Ontario athletes (example: a non-Ontario athlete that
places second in an event will receive a silver medal. If third overall was an Ontario
athlete, they would also receive a silver medal as they were the second overall Ontario
athlete. The process continues until three Ontario athletes are awarded medals).
Spectators/Coaches: If there is a 25-person limit during the championship, absolutely no coaches will be
allowed inside the facility.
If there is a 100-person limit, coaches will be allowed into the facility. A free coaches
pass registration page will be available on Trackie. Only coaches registered with their
provincial or state governing body will be able to register for a coaches pass.
If there is no longer a limit on event gatherings or if there is a higher limit, coaches will
still be able to register for a free coaches pass. Spectators will be able to access the
facility free of charge.
Masks: All participants present at the competition site must always wear a mask. Athletes must
wear a mask until they begin their warmup or are competing. Upon the completion of
an event, an athlete must put their mask back on.

4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m.
*The 5000m R/W for the U20 age group will be offered during the Open Championships on July
30 – August 1*

Seed Times: Indoor/Outdoor 2019, 2020, and current 2021 season performances showing up on the
Athletics Canada rankings will be accepted. Also please note:
• Wind-assisted jumps or sprint event performances will not be used for
seeding purposes.
• Conversions from related events (e.g., 1500m and 1200m) will not be
accepted.
• There will be no appeals allowed for consideration of special circumstances
such as injury during the eligible period, etc.
Entry Standards: The U20 Championships is only being offered to all Athletics Canada registered athletes
born in 2002 or 2003. Athletes born in 2004 or after will need to achieve the following
performance standards to be entered into the championship.

R: July 21, 2021 6 | PageScoring: The top 8 athletes in each event and category will earn point for their clubs as follows:
1st – 10 points 2nd – 8 points 3rd – 6 points 4th – 5 points
5th – 4 points 6th – 3 points 7th – 2 points 8th – 1 point
Protests: All Protests must be made as outlined in IAAF rule 146. In all cases, protests must be
filed within 30 minutes of the official announcement or release of the results. If no
protest is received within the above-mentioned time limit, the result as released will
stand. If a protest changes a result, 30 minutes will be allowed following the
announcement or release of the decision for appeals to be brought forward. The
decision of the referee may be appealed to the Jury of Appeal whose decision is final.
The cost of $25.00 will be returned if the protest is upheld or not considered frivolous
by the Jury.

Facility Regulations: Maximum spike length is 6mm (1/4 inch) Pyramid “Cone Shape”. Spiked shoes may be
checked at any time for spike length. All competition and official working areas are
always off limits to non-competitors.
NO electronic devices are allowed in the competition area.
Results: Results will be posted on Sunday July 25, 2021, following the completion of the meet.

CAUSED, arising or to arise by reason of my participation in the said event, whether as spectator, participant, competitor or otherwise;
whether prior to, during or subsequent to the event AND NOTWITHSTANDING that same may have been contributed to or occasioned
by the negligence of any of the aforesaid.
