IT’S ALL
ABOUT ME!

Maths and English (ME) isn’t just about words and
numbers - a good understanding of both subjects
will be valuable throughout your life. It means you
are more likely to progress in education, find a
job and grow in your future career.
At WUC, you will continue to develop your skills
in Maths and English throughout your studies,
whatever your ability.
You are not alone!
Around four out of ten teenagers leave school
without a GCSE at Grade C or Grade 4 in Maths
and English. A fresh start at college studying
something you enjoy, can really help.
If you are 16 to 19 years old and don’t have
a GCSE at Grade C or Grade 4 in Maths and
English, you will study English and Maths
qualifications through Functional Skills or GCSE
alongside your course. If you are over the age
of 19, you will be encouraged to do the same.
If you already have a grade C, 4, or above in
GCSE English and Maths, you will continue
to develop your skills during your classroom
sessions and assessments.
Don’t worry! We will support you along the way
and help you to be the best you can be.
