About The Show
“Just the Right Book Podcast” is a twice-weekly show for book enthusiasts
and engaged readers either searching for their next read or simply
addicted to all things books – back stories about authors, titles, characters,
the written word and industry scuttlebutt. Since its launch just over a year
ago, the podcast has hosted the most impressive guest list of living
authors on our planet! Part of the reason is the notoriety of our host,
Roxanne Coady, one of the most influential independent booksellers in
the country (RJ Julia Booksellers), former “Bookseller of the Year,” and go-
to person throughout the media for her insights, reviews and
recommendations. Authors appreciate her unique interviewing style,
make her an early stop on their tours when promoting their latest work,
and many hang by her every word about their books.
Guests include the most prolific, best-selling authors of our time with enormous followings, such as: James
Patterson, John Grisham, Scott Turow, Dean Koontz (whose publicist specifically sought out Roxanne),
Michael Connelly, Nicole Krauss, Ron Chernow and Maria Semple, to name a few. In fact, three guests
recently appeared at the same time on The New York Times hardcover bestseller list. Our episode with
author Ann Patchett, named by Time Magazine as one of the most influential people in the world, was
featured on Apple Podcasts when she talked about her life, her latest book, “Commonwealth,” and the state
of the bookselling industry.
Celebrities-turned-authors who have told their stories to Roxanne include: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Luvvie
Ajayi, chef Jacques Pepin, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, perfume icon Jo Malone and leading advice
columnist Amy Dickinson (“Ask Amy”). Add to the list some of the most influential book publishers from
Hachette, Random House, Kirkus Reviews and the legendary Strand Bookstore.
As well as digging deep inside this “who’s who” of the book world, Roxanne provides recommendations for
your next read – for all tastes and levels – and introduces listeners to new authors with new perspectives.
Collectively, the guests on the show have sold billions of books (Dean Koontz 450 million and James Patterson
300 million!), have numerous awards and distinctions, and have millions and millions of fans and followers.

The Host
Roxanne Coady is bringing her passion for books and her relationships with authors and publishers to
podcasting with the launch of “Just The Right Book Podcast.” She is owner of 26-year-old R.J. Julia in Madison,
CT, one of the leading independent booksellers in the United States, and founder of Just the Right Book, the
largest online personalized book-of-the-month subscription service. Authors of every genre choose R.J. Julia
as the place to begin their publicity tours, and the store was named best independent bookstore by
Publishers Weekly magazine
Coady is committed to the idea that every child must be exposed to language and reading from birth. In 1998,
she founded Read to Grow, Inc., which promotes development of early literacy and language skills, working
to give all Connecticut children tools for success in reading. Read to Grow provides books for newborns and
children and encourages parents to read to their children from birth. RTG has distributed over 1.5 million
books.
Coady is sought frequently for her opinion on the latest books. She appears periodically on the Today Show
and Good Morning America, and her bookstore hosts some 300 author events each year.
