on the Mid-Norfolk Railway to Dereham, where you will have a light

The Beth Chatto Gardens began in 1960. From an overgrown
wasteland with poor gravel soil and boggy hollows, it has been
transformed into an informal garden harmonising with the surrounding
countryside. The gardens are an inspiration to anyone who visits them -
the art of planting at its best. After time to explore here, we will board
the coach and head to a nearby destination for your Cream Tea.

Sun 02         Little Bentley Hall Garden Show                  £25.00
Tour these beautiful private gardens, arboretum and waterways of the
Palmer-Tomkinson family, last open to the public in 2014. Enjoy the
Show Gardens, Fine Art Show and over 80 Quality trade stands.
Sun 09         RAF Cosford Airshow                              £50.00
The Cosford Air Show is the only RAF’s annual airshow in 2019.
Cosford airfield is fairly small and has retained the character of an old
RAF base. Today it’s home to the Defence College of Aeronautical
Engineering as well as a branch of the RAF Museum. As such the site is
full of former RAF equipment for trading the ground trades of the
armed forces as well as the collection from the RAF Museum. The 2019
show will mark the 70th Anniversary of NATO and Women in Defence.

The Postal Museum is run by the Postal Heritage Trust. It began in
2004 as The British Postal Museum & Archive and opened in Central
London as The Postal Museum on 28 July 2017. Explore the surprising
history of one of the greatest of British inventions, the post – the
beginnings of the earliest social network. From cryptic Victorian
Valentine cards to a lion encountered on Salisbury Plain. And the odd
pistol, too. There’s nothing ordinary about the story of the post. Journey
back in time on a specially made train through the original tunnels and
station platforms under Mount Pleasant. Take a ride on Mail Rail and
experience 15 minutes of immersive underground exploration on our
miniature trains. There’s even a surprise or two. Pass deep below Royal
Mail’s Mount Pleasant sorting office, see the original and largely
unchanged station platforms and be transported back in time. Take in a
theatrical experience that peels back the layers of time to the railway’s

Today we will make our way to The Best Western hotel in Marks Tey
where you will have a tasty 2 course lunch. After lunch we will make
our way to Walton on the Naze where you will have the afternoon to do
as you please. Why not take a towel with you and take a paddle in the
sea, or visit the pier, the second longest in the country.

We will make our way to Sheringham where there will be time to
wander of and get some lunch (not included). After some time here we
will make our way along the coast to Cromer where again you will have
some free time. We will then make our way back home.
Sun 30         Chelsworth Gardens                                  £25.00
Chelsworth is a picturesque village situated in the beautiful Brett
Valley, just a few miles from Lavenham and is regarded as one the
prettiest villages in the country. This will be the 51st year that residents
in the village have opened their wonderful private gardens to the public
on the last Sunday in June. This year's event will include, cakes, teas
and savoury refreshments, live music, plant and produce stalls, food,
craft and other commercial stands.

The RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is the world's biggest
annual flower show. Marvel at the beautiful flowers in the rose marquee

garden design. Watch demonstrations by celebrity gardeners around the
showgrounds and get tips on gardening in a changing climate. Plus, learn
about growing your own fruit and vegetables, and shop for garden

This is a ideal day out, in the award winning St Peters Gardens you can
wander amongst a variety of stalls selling local produce with fresh fruit
and vegetables, plants, cakes and preserves, plus crafts and gifts. More
stalls can be found in the picturesque Museum Square. The magnificent
900 year old parish church of St Peter and St Paul is the main attraction
of this annual event, and is the setting for the breathtaking displays of
traditional flowers and exotic blooms.

The only ‘End-of-the-pier’ show in Europe. Cromer Pavilion Theatre is
now the only theatre at the end of the pier that produces an in house
show every summer season. The Cromer Pier Show is one of the few
true live variety shows in Britain, showcasing live variety acts at their

Today you will travel to Wymondham Abbey Halt where you will
board the train to travel 11 miles on East Anglia’s longest standard-
gauge heritage railway. After your train journey from Wymondham,
enjoy a light lunch at Dereham Station. Then you will make your way
to Wroxham and join a vessel from the Broads Tours Fleet. There’s no
better way to discover the diversity of the Norfolk Broads than by
relaxing on one of their river tours with an interesting and entertaining
live commentary that is provided.

The Air Tattoo returns this summer at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire
to celebrate 70 years of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation

airshow. The Royal Jordanian Falcons join the Swiss Hornet and the

events in the East of England. Now in it’s 138th year it is much more
than just a Flower Show. It is a unique event offering not only the best

with Sandringham House and Sandringham Church as a backdrop, this
one-day Show attracts around 20,000 visitors each year. From the

an assortment of garden sundries. This year there will be floral
displays as well as demonstrations by our RHS Experts.
Sat 03         Festival of Quilts at the NEC                      £40.00
The Festival of Quilts is Europe’s leading patchwork and quilting
event attracting 24,000 quilters from all over the world. The show is a
celebration of quilting in all its forms, with over 300 exhibitors
offering essential supplies, professionally curated galleries of quilts
from leading international makers, 350 workshops, talks and demos
plus a magnificent display of over 700 competition quilts. It is the
ultimate patchwork and quilting experience. Also appearing at the
show is Jenny Doan, Missouri Star Quilt Company . Jenny Doan has
been called ‘The most famous quilter in the world’ with her Youtube
tutorials being viewed more than 110 million times. Jenny will be
giving a two hour ‘trunk show’ with humour, laughter and even a few
tears. Jenny will share her story, which includes how she got started in
quilting, how MSQC came to be and how this quilting phenomenon
has impacted her life.

Crich Tramway Village, home of the National Tramway Museum
providing a trip back to a bygone age, Vintage trams transport you
along the traditional village street into open countryside with
breathtaking views of the Derwent Valley. On arrival collect your old
penny to pay the conductor your tram fare, and receive a ticket you can
use all day. Trams depart regularly from town end, calling at various
stops along the mile long track. Be transported back in time on the

Gooderstone Water Gardens, near Swaffham, are a very special
attraction for all garden lovers, naturalists, artists and photographers or
those who simply want a restful break. After your train journey from
Wymondham, enjoy a light lunch at Dereham. Then continue with your
trip to Gooderstone, where you will have tea/coffee and cake. The
gardens are set in 6 acres of grounds with a natural trout stream, four
ponds, waterways, thirteen bridges and a kingfisher hide.

What could be more enjoyable than visiting an RHS flower show. RHS
Wisley near Woking has one of the longest finest examples of mixed
border planting in Britain which have vibrant displays of colour during
the summer.

Step back in time at the annual 1940s weekend at Sheringham. Over the
years this event has attracted more and more visitors and more and more
exhibitors. It is widely felt to be one of the best events of its type in the
country. Hear The singing of American Tan & Timescape, air raids, the
Sheringham Salvation Army Band, Nostalgia Unlimited and
gramophone music. Taste Wartime rations, tea, together with spam
sandwiches, from the NAAFI at Weybourne. A Cup of Char’ and a
Wad’ from the Intitute tearooms at Holt, See Jitterbug dancers, re-
enactment groups, a collection of 1940s vehicles and veteran and
vintage bicycles. Feel The excitement, fear, hope and bravery of the
Blitz. Smell The golden age of steam.
Fri 20         Cromer ‘Best of’ Summer Show                        £40.00
The ‘Best of’ Show pieces together all of your favourite bits from both
Shows 1 and 2 to bring you the ultimate finale to the summer season.
Each show brings you a different mix of music, song, dance, glitzy
costumes, fabulous scenery and belly-laughing comedy, all brought to
you by the same cast, so if you love variety you should come and see.
This is a 4pm performance, you will have free time in Cromer before
the show starts.
