When teams check in for the meet they will receive their team pack with credentials, heat sheets
and other important meet info. At check in, all teams must sign for their team packs and provide
final confirmation their listed roster of team personnel is accurate. This certifies that all members
of the coaching staff are properly qualified to attend the meet and have met all required GHSA
certifications. Team check in for the meet to collect your team packs will be available on
Thursday, February 7 from 10 am until 5 pm. This will allow you to get your team pack
including your team credentials, parking pass, relay cards and other meet materials the day before
the meet, as well as pay you meet entry fees if you have not done so already. This will take place
at the back entry to the CRC along Tech Parkway. If you get your team pack on Thursday make
sure your athletes and coaches enter the facility on their first day of competition with their
credentials in hand when they enter the building.

Teams should enter the facility via the back door along Tech Parkway, please DO NOT try to
enter the facility via the front door of the building. Teams are requested to come through the
team check in area as one team with a coach to supervise the check in process. Please do not
instruct your swimmers to arrive and enter the building whenever they like.

If your team does not check in until Friday, team check-in will be done in the back hallway of the
pool deck level of the facility. There will be 3 check-in tables, separated alphabetically by team,
as well as a diving only table specifically for divers and their coaches. At check in your team will
receive their meet pack including the following: team credentials, parking pass, heat sheets and
relay cards as well as pay your entry fees if you have not done so already.

A list of your credentialed personnel (coaches, athletes, and managers, will be posted on
ghssca.com by the Tuesday of the meet. Please review this list for any omissions and notify the
meet director as soon as possible so that your check-in can run as smoothly as possible. This

process will apply for prelims as well as finals. Teams will be asked to provide the number of

at the rate of regular paid admission.

the last event of the 1-5A meet.

CERTIFIED COACHES:
All teams must submit a full roster of their coaching staff to the GHSA by January 15. This list
may be submitted via the following link: Access to the Coaches Name Submission System is
restricted – users must login to the GHSA MIS website (http://app.ghsa.net) To begin, click the
Coaches link on the School menu – the coaches list for your school is displayed. As a starting
point the coaches appearing in the school directory are loaded

All coaches must also complete the required GHSA rules clinic and be on the GHSA authorized
coaches list or be subject to a fine from the GHSA. A list of approved coaches will be published
on ghssca.com and will be mailed to teams prior to the meet. Teams with unauthorized coaches
are subject to a $100 per coach fine for any coaches not meeting this requirement.

COACHES MEETING: A mandatory coaches meeting will be conducted 45 minutes prior to
the start of each prelim session in room 147. This is located in the back hallway of the deck level
of the aquatic center near the area for team check in. A member of your coaching staff must be
present at this meeting.

CREDENTIALS: Per GHSA rules you will be provided credentials for all of your qualified
participants, up to 4 male and 4 female relay alternates, as well as approved coaches on the
GHSA swimming and diving list, and up to 2 additional team staff members (trainers or
managers). Additional staff credentials can be obtained via the entry process and including those
individuals on your state team roster. The deck will be for swimmers and credentialed team
personnel only, please remind your swimmers the importance of keeping their credential if they
leave the deck.

The only individuals allowed on deck will be participants, coaches, volunteers, and credentialed
meet officials. Access to the deck will be monitored by meet workers and security. Please help
us police this policy and instruct any parents or students not participating in the meet to remain
upstairs in the spectator area. This will allow the swimmers to better access the blocks for their
events and should minimize swimmers missing races. Athlete and Coach credentials may only
enter the building via the back entrance to the CRC. Those credentials will NOT be

accepted at the front of the CRC, where spectators enter the building. Persons caught trying
to pass their credential to an unauthorized person will be subject to ejection from the facility and
will be referred to the GHSA for disciplinary action.

TEAM AREAS: Teams may sit on the deck in any of the designated team areas. If teams elect
to sit in the upper seating areas, they are requested to sit in the seats above the diving well
only. Please leave the spectator seating areas over the competition pools for spectators.
This allows spectators to have the prime seats to view competition. Teams may NOT set up their
team areas in the hallways off the pool deck. Please only take the space your team needs for your
swimmers. Teams may NOT bring tents, grills, flat screen televisions of any kind into the
facility. Teams are welcome to bring team signs, but we request you use blue painter’s tape or
zip ties only to hang your team signs. Please do not use masking, scotch, athletic or duct tape to
hang your signs. Damage caused by use of anything but blue painters tape will be the
responsibility of the offending school.

PROOF OF PERFORMANCE AND MEET ENTRIES:
To be eligible to compete in the state meet swimmers and divers must meet the qualifying
standard for the event they enter. That time/score must be achieved in a GHSA meet during the
2019 season and must be submitted to as a verified performance. Coaches shall submit all of
their Proof of Performances on the Georgia High School Swimming Coaches Association
(GHSSCA) web site found at GHSA MIS website (http://app.ghsa.net). Please refer to
http://ghsa.net/ghsa-constitution-and-laws#swimming of the GHSA “White Book” for full details
on the entry and proof of performance process. For questions or concerns about State Meet
eligibility and procedures for diving, contact the State Diving Coordinator, Vicky Sanchez
Tuymer, (GHSA_diving@hotmail.com). The coach must make the actual entry for the
swimmer and/or diver to compete in the State Meet on the GHSA MIS website
(http://app.ghsa.net) Friday, February 1, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted
for the meet. Once the meet entry deadline has expired changes will NOT be allowed to entries.

THESE PROCEDURES WILL RESULT IN YOUR SWIMMERS NOT COMPETING IN
THE STATE MEET.

conducted (the doors by the pool deck will be locked during diving competition). Please keep
your athletes out of the room.

CONCESSIONS: Concessions for the meet will be provided.

TEAM ARRIVAL AND PARKING -
Please follow these steps carefully, as it will help limit congestion and confusion. A limited
number of vehicles will receive parking passes (only large buses. mini buses and passenger vans
will receive a parking pass). Passes for those vehicles must be must be requested in advance via
https://goo.gl/forms/1QvB5IdDErSv1F3K2 to be included in your team pack. Parking for all
personal vehicles will have to go in the paid parking lots by the facility. To save some money
and ensure you have your pass for those lots go to https://gatech.clickandpark.com/events.
Vehicles parked at any of the designated parking lots at or around GT without a parking pass will
be ticketed, booted or towed. A full diagram of parking and the area around the pool can be
found at ghsssca.com and selecting State Meet Info and then selecting 2019 Parking Maps.

Team Drop Off - Team drop off will still take place on Tech Parkway by the back entrance to
the pool as it has in years past. With that side of Tech Parkway being 2 way traffic now teams are
required to approach the building from the south when bringing their athletes to the pool. You
will not be allowed to access Tech Parkway from Northside Drive travelling south. You must
enter Tech Parkway either from North Avenue, Wallace St.(for large busses) or Means St (for
mini buses or smaller). Please familiarize yourself with the map on ghssca.com so you can know
where to go when you get to the pool. Bottom line, plan some extra time to get your athletes to
the pool the day of the meet (specifically prelims) as it will be very congested. Please remember,
buses must drop off their athletes immediately and unload as soon as possible. Teams may not
park their team bus in the loading zone and wait until the doors open for your session.

Parking for DIVING -
FOR DIVING ONLY teams will receive one parking credential per team with their team pack.
Vehicles can park in the lots located 793 and 811 Marietta St., any team vehicles without a
parking pass will be ticketed, booted or towed. A full diagram of parking and the area around the
pool can be found at ghsssca.com and selecting State Meet Info and then selecting 2019 Parking
Maps.

PARKING FOR SWIMMING
Parking for this year's meet will be substantially different than in year's past. Georgia
Tech has significantly reduced available parking for the meet so please follow the details
below carefully.

Large School Bus Parking - If at all possible, try to avoid parking a large bus for the meet, there
is VERY LIMITED PARKING for large buses. YOUR BEST OPTION IS TO HAVE
YOUR BUS DROP YOU OFF AND PICK YOU UP ONLY. Plan to make arrangements to
call your driver as competition is getting wrapped up. Prelims for 1-5A should end around
12:15 pm and around 9:45 pm for 6-7A. If your team will be using a large school bus, you
MUST request a parking pass at the following link https://goo.gl/forms/1QvB5IdDErSv1F3K2

If you have no other choice and have to park your bus at GT her are your options:
 If you yourself (the coach) has to drive the bus then please park in the spots along
Hemphill Ave. This is a short walk to the CRC. If that parking is full, please proceed to
the other spots located at Northyards Blvd.

                                              Page 8
2019 GHSA State Swim and Dive Meet Information
 If your driver has no other choice there are spots at Northyards Blvd (off North Ave. west
of the Coke building). There will be a shuttle for coaches only that will run from
Northyards Blvd. back to the pool, estimated trip time will be 10 minutes from one
location to the next. Note, this shuttle will NOT pick up bus drivers that service is for
coaches only. This will allow coaches to get to the pool as quickly as possible if they
have to park their team bus. With that in mind, we strongly advise teams to have a driver
lined up for those full size team busses so that coaches can remain with their athletes.

Mini Bus Parking - If you plan on driving a mini bus or van you MUST request a parking
pass at the following link. https://goo.gl/forms/1QvB5IdDErSv1F3K2 Parking for these
vehicles will take place at the north end of Tech Parkway past the team dropoff area. Overflow
parking for these vehicles can try Hemphill Ave. or Northyards Blvd. as an option. With that in
mind, we strongly advise teams to have a driver lined up for those mini buses so that coaches can
remain with their athletes. Do NOT park personal vehicles in those spots THEY WILL BE
TOWED.

Parking for Personal Vehicles for Teams and Volunteers - If you are using a personal vehicle
(car or SUV) this WILL impact you significantly as you will not have access to the normal
parking areas along Tech Parkway we have used in the past. Personal vehicles will have to use
the paid parking lots adjacent to the facility. Advance parking can be purchased for a discount
at https://gatech.clickandpark.com/events. I hate having to do this to teams, but the matter is
totally out of our hands. As I mentioned, Georgia Tech's parking department had taken away a
